Sharing A Special Day With Randy Travis - A Touch of Encouragement

This week Beliefnet.com released the "official" announcement of "A Touch of Encouragement" to the media. Obviously it was a big day for us, and it was made all the more special for me when I discovered that on the very same day, Randy Travis released his first mainstream country album since 1999.

Now, as some of you know, I'm a big Randy Travis fan. I love his voice, I love his music, I love his honesty, I love his genuine humility and commitment to his faith. He's the only country musician I listen to. Sometimes I wonder if he's the only true country music singer left. But that's another blog....

In recent years, Randy has been recording inspirational gospel music and blessing us all by adding his incomparable voice to words of praise and worship.

I am a girl from norway who does'ent write well i english, but i hope to find the answerd to a question i have wonder about for such a long time...
In the episode in "touch by an angel" were Randy Travis played in, there were an Irish Psalm in the ending of the episode i think...
When we see a black man in the church...
I have wondering for quit some time what's the name of this song...
I was hoping you could help me...?:)

Mrs. Williamson, I cant begin to articulate how much Touched by an Angel has positively effected my life. I remember watching the series when it originally aired, and I continue to watch the show as it currently aires on Hallmark. I find myself even more drawn to the show now that it's available on DVD. The ability to rewind, and watch episode after episode is so wonderful. Im writing to thank you for the show, and to ask why Im not able to purchase ALL nine seasons on DVD? So many shows are available now on DVD, Id think a show that "touched" so many lives in such a wonderful way would be fully available?!? Also Promised land. If it were available Id purchase it was well.

Hi Martha & Friends!

I had to write and tell I love Touched by an Angel more now in rerun.
I recently watched again the final two part ending and I think you saved your best for last. My brother-in-law, who is great believer, told me once he never watched the show after the first few episodes because Jesus wasn't in them. I immediately told him about the finale and how he rode the bus with Monica, right to that little town, and performed miracles fixing those toys and broken appliances. Then he took the blame for the explosion, simply by saying "yes I was there".

I know you know your story but, my point is I went on and on and told him your beautiful way of retelling the gospels. As soon as I saw Zach on the bus I knew what you were doing but, the fact that you wrote it and put Jesus in your show was as fantastic as when Charles Schultz had Schoeder answer Charlie Brown "What's christmas all about?".
You're fantastic and I can't wait for more stories from you.

Hey Martha, I also love Touched by an Angel. It's the only TV show out there; in which I like more than 6 episodes of. You and the stars of the show, did an amazing job. GOD bless you!!!

Sure love your messages, your taste in country singers and especially my beloved collection of TBA. I have seen every episode made with Randy Travis and his little brother Joey, and more than a few times. My husband and kiddos just love them. Thank you , Martha, for your God guided heart! What a wonderful post. It was shared by the Randy Travis Team who operate Randy's official site and I am delighted that they did. I've loved Randy and been a friend and fan for several years now. I also loved Touched by an Angel and Promised Land and attended the 1998 anniversary of the OKC bombing presentation in Oklahoma City when a potion was taped there for Promised Land.

There is no doubt Martha, that you and Randy go hand in hand together and through God's love.

I love your "Touch of Encouragement"! I loved your Touched by an Angel, tryed hard never to miss one of the shows.
I feel like you are a wonderful "new" friend, like many others of my friends I had for years. I also enjoy the stories you tell each time & always look forward to hearing from you the next time.
God blessed you with a way with words that everyone can not help but be lifted up & encouraged by them. It doesn't matter if you are talking about a lost puppy,a day's visit
at your daughter's kindergarden class at show & share or the lose of a dear friend. Your
messages are great & helpful just in the fact that all others have or will have in their lives too. Hopeful they will remember something you have say that will that will help
them also.

I read/watch each and every one of your posts/videos
and listen to each and every one of Randy's songs.

I have to tell you that I so totally enjoy you both!

Reading/watching you and listening to Randy's music
is like coming home for me. I feel like I have known
you both for years and that I am sharing that time
with an old friend.

You are important "feel good" resources for me,
keeping me grounded in this great big world of ours.
