In this touching video, Martha Williamson tells the story of how her young daughter loved a caterpillar and the lesson that no matter how big or small, learning to love has to start somewhere.

Hi Martha,

some of the sharings are very cute to read.
only if i could write more i would share my belief.

thanks for posting reader's thoughts.

Hello!
I just finished watching your video and I must say it was meant for me to watch. You see the title caught my eye and the caption. I had an Aunt Rosie and may she rest in peace I was not able to be with her in her final days.
Anyway in your message of love I heard a message of my own that I felt was form her. Trying to give me some closure after all these years. So for that I thank you. I know now that she was loved in her final days on this earth(even if she was not butterfly material)

I am ready for a world that respects all life the way your daughter respected the life of Rosie the catapiller.

God loves all creatures big and small so your daughter loves all creatures large and small as all people should so she makes up for all of the people that don't and her tears will was this wonderful animal to Gods hands where he/she belongs.

I just want to tell you a story about what happened to my mother when whe was a child and she went to the otherside of the curtain when she was eighty-eight years old.

When she was a child she had a little chick that she loved so much and one day she wanted to carry it around because she loved it so much. She cupped her hand the chick was there but she didn't realize that the chick couldn't breathe and she opened her hand and the chick died and nobody said anything to her and when she cried her father told her she was silly and they never discussed again and that was a big mistake.

When she was in her 60's she told me that and she started to cry and I told her then it wasn't her fault because she didn't know better and she felt she should have not until I she told me that I couldn't figure out why she was so afraid of my birds but she really wasn't afraid of my birds she afraid she would kill them just because she was around them but finally she did start to love them and wasn't afraid to baby sit for me but I always gave her a hard time.

But even when she was in her 70's and 80' she still felt it was her fault about the death of that little chickie and she would cry no matter how many times I would tell her it never changed her mind because when it happened they told her it was silly to cry and she held that in that her heart was broken over the death of her chickie. They always say children get over things and that is just not true at all.

So if any of your children have something that seems silly to you happen to an animal be sad with them and make them feel as though anything that happens to them is just as important to you. I think even to the day she died she carried that with her in her heart no matter what I said to her she still thought it was her fault.

She had such a heart of gold that she would give her last piece of clothing to anyone who needed it no questions asked but the one thing she couldn't fix stayed with her her whole life.

Thank you,
Martha

This video made me remember years ago, when my son Billy found a Capterpillar. He loved that Capterpillar , and it soon became his pet. Billy was always holding it and petting it, which of course shorten its life. We had a funeral for it, an burial and a grave with a cross. I kneed down with my son to say some prayers for his beloved pet, the sweet little capterpillar that stole his heart and broke it as well. I will always remember that moment, children have a way of teaching us adults the true meaning of loving and caring! Thank you for this video, and it bring back a wonderful memory for me!

Hello Mrs. Martha this is such a touching video and would be a good video in my Sunday School Class, I think. I feel this would help the little people understand how to start loving and end up loving. I do feel that if it(love) can be instilled in us as little beings we can appreciate it and it will grow as we grow into young adults taking it with us everywhere we go, and yes walking home from school too. I enjoyed this video and I will foward it on thank you and be blessed ! ! !

Children's innocence is so precious. My daughter used to pry mice out of her (outside) cat's mouth whenever she could grab kitty, then set the mice free. I always thought daughter would become a vet because of her love for animals but she's about to enter medical school.

Cherish those innocent times. It seems the world is determined to make our children grow up way too quickly.

Blessings to you, Martha.

Martha, I have tears in my eyes. How many little creatures big and small have I loved?!! And, you tell Abby that crying is the best cure in the whole wide world for a little girl and a big girl. Sue
