Hi Martha,
For all human kind a hug is the most important thing in life because that is special connection that is the most I miss from my mom that is now on the otherside of the curtain she was so soft and smelled so good.
Simple touch! How true that is..I don't often get that touch I am married with two children and mot often a hug or an I love you barely comes my way, I try often most times not accepted or a hug back without the hug or feeling of it, if you or anyone else knows what I mean. I get hugs from my friends from church more often than my own family how sad is that?
Then they wonder why I am often sad and feel isloated from them..I wish things would change and I pray that they do, my 9 year old son does give hugs everynight before bed but b/c he is told to although somedays I notice he does and it is truely a hug so I am blessed on those days and try to remember them. Human touch Is very important and did not realize it until recently and without it, I feel unloved and that is a horrible feeling. Most days I feel invisable in my own home and not just b/c of not having human touch but many other reasons as well.
God Bless you Martha
Leeann
Don't be afraid to say words of comfort to anyone for fear you may make them suffer more Once a person hears these words, most often they'll know you really care.
So many loving words on this site. felt touched.
god bless all.
May god's love shine through and heal those in pain.

Great devotional.
WHY are "Bruno" ads being featured on Beliefnet?
Do NOT be naive...
This is on purpose.
Tried looking up "Angel Wars" video preview, hosted by Beliefnet, and
U will find the aforementioned trailer/ad there.
Gramma: It sounds like you want someone to hug you and let you know how much you are loved. I don't know how old your grandchildren are, but surely one of them you can let your guard down with....I have eight grandchildren, and I know there are two of them that no matter what, I can rely on them for a loving touch. Since you have put this barrier up yourself, you might have to let one of your grandchildren know you need a hug. Or perhaps it is one of your children....but don't let any more time go by without letting one of them know you need a hug. Once you open your heart to someone, you will feel so much better. Wish I was there to help you. Please accept my words as your first hug.
As an infant, I was in six foster homes in 9 months. I can only imagine the LACK of attention and "touch" that I went through, being shuffled from one house to another. I look back, and from the remembrances of my adoptive parents, I must have been the biggest CRIER in the world. As a matter of fact, I threw such a caterwal in the nursery when this wonderful couple came to take me home, that the social worker said, "You don't have to take her." The legend goes that they came in the nursery, and when my "prospective" Dad picked me up...I stopped crying! They said, "We'll take her!" and my life began. I was also told that, once "at home," I ceased my incesant crying, and became a "model" baby! My parents raised me VERY well, and a year later, they adopted a little boy to complete our family. God works in mysterious ways; I must have KNOWN that I was to be part of THIS family, and THAT'S why I stopped crying.
Wow, the power of human touch! I also hope that Granma realizes that she is not never alone. One of the most moving moments of Christ's journey on Earth was when he expressed deep fear of what was coming his way while meditating on Mount Olive. I am totally convinced that Christ's loving energy hugs her and all of us every single moment. Namaste!
Your words of Hugs were wonderful and it really touched me. I wouldn't miss any of your videos. Thanks.
When my husband passed away four years ago, I quit letting anyone hug me. I don't even let my children and grandchildren near me. I do know how much good a hug can do, but I also know it hurts. It hurts in the remembrance, it hurts in the body, it hurts in the soul. And sometimes I just cry waiting for someone to cross that self-imposed barrier.
This was beautiful! Everyone should either receive or give a hug today. It just makes you feel good! (smile)
