Martha, I love your video stories. They are so uplifting and always look forward to the next video story. Thank you for you. Pat

Dear Martha,

What a powerful message. I also have my memories like yours with some "old" dishes from the past. How my mother used to make our Thanksgiving so special as immigrants living in America. She always was so proud to make her turkey dinner and how she loved to set the table with our dishes that were a tressure to her. It was a mix and match from things she had taken from the old country and added some new things.
My mother loved the Thanksgiving and the time around the holidays. She always said "we have to be thankful for what God has given us, food on the table" Food was so very important to her, because she had lived through WW2 in Europe and knew so well when they had no food to feed the big family she grew up in.
Thank you Martha for all your inspiring messages. I hope your Thanksgiving was a blessed one with the people you love.

I think you could teach Martha Stewart far more than she could you. With all her negative comments about Rachel Ray and others as of late I think she needs to learn the importance of family and friends over perfection.

As one of your faithful followers, I once again was touched by your message in “Bowls Full of Love.” Although we should acknowledge our blessings each and every day, Thanksgiving provides us the opportunity to remember and to thank our Lord for all that He has provided. But I had to giggle when I heard the video intro: “This Thanksgiving we’re setting our table with memories.” Some of us heftier folks might want to take that advice literally! Thank you, Martha, for the special blessing you have been to my life.

Dear Martha,

Thanks for another inspirational story today. i trusted every words you have said about "A bowl full of love"... i hope and wish we can remember your words each day in our daily lives, so that when we feel discouraged about life, we can count our blessings and our daily bread that we have been blessed for. also the love and care from people around us too.

Much love
and Happy Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Hi Martha,
I love your bits of wisdom. It seems the older we get, the less important it is to be perfect and the more important it is to remember the moments that have made our lives special. God put each of us on this Earth with a purpose and sometimes we forget to give thanks for all we have and all that is yet to come. This year I too home to remember the simple moments, moments that took my breath away, and thank God for each of them.

I listened and just laughed at myself too...I did the same thing with the big, thick, Sears Roebuck catalogue decorating....and, when I was working I wanted everything I saw...even if it didn't match what I had...it was just pretty...I had in mind it would fit and fit in beautifully....Now, just being together and how we can love and help each other. We use what we have now and enjoy remembering who gave us this or where that came from...

Martha I lost my husband 6 years ago the day before Thanksgiving. This has always been a hard time for me. I try to carry on with my children as everythings ok. I know its been 6 years but I miss him so. I thank God every year that I have with my Parents and my children I am now a grandmother and I want to try to carry on tradition just like my mom has. My husband hated everything being perfect he loved it when things were a mess he would always laugh and say thats another good one to add to our book. If things look to perfect you always new there was going to be a prank coming on. I miss those days. But we all have to go on. thank you for all your stories they help me out in times like this.
Thank You
Kathy

Martha..........Thanks again for another wonderful story about "family & tradition". I too always wanted to have that "perfect" table setting which I never had BUT then thought about how "COLD" our Thanksgiving would be without things to remind us of years gone by. I appreciate whatever I may have left to serve my family favorites on which brings back great memories and smells of what was served on those plates or platters. My Thanksgiving table will be decorated with love and surrounded by the people I love! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours from me and mine! Karen (a faithful reader of your column)

JUSTINA
