When God Says Go

posted by Dillon Burroughs

1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

2 “I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.”

4 So Abram went, as the LORD had told him…

-Genesis 12:1-4

What did Abram (later Abraham) do when God said “Go”? He obeyed. Abram had no idea where he would end up, but he had God’s promise. His life continues to stand as an example to us today.

The people God has used the most have historically not been those with money and influence; they have been those He has called who have said yes. It is call’s call that matters most; yet our response is an important part of the process God uses.

When God calls you, it is a sacred, holy calling. It is not optional to follow or obey. Follow God’s lead when he says “Go.”
