Military Heroes – U. S. Army

Lieutenant Bob Dole

Lieutenant Dole served in the Army from 1942-1948. Senator Dole poignantly talks about how he suffered his life-changing wounds in the hills of Italy during WWII. Dole’s story focuses on his long recovery in VA hospitals back in the states as he says, “I was in the hospital 39 months, so most of my service was after the war ended.”
