Greetings

IMG_0870 Have you ever thought about the way we greet one another? The name of this blog comes from a crusty old man I met in San Diego when I first started going to spiritual classes. He lived in his van and had retired from the Navy. He had a wonderful smile and would always wave and say, "Angels on your shoulders" as he walked away. That was over twenty years ago and that image still brings a smile to my face.

I love watching people when I am in line at the grocery store or the bank. I enjoy observing how they interact and smiling if we happen to make eye contact. I am so fortunate I live on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is very much like a small town and there is a sincere warmth when people greet each other.

As Alzheimer's claims more and more of my dad he is becoming a much more gentle person. When I was a little girl we used to watch the Andy Griffin Show together.  I recently found it on one of the cable stations and began putting it on for him. It is very touching watching him watch the show and since my office is next to the living room I often see parts of it too.

Yesterday I was struck by the way they greeted one another. There was a familiarity, a kinship if you will , an openness of spirit that I often find lacking in society today. When I am in line and the grocery store and take the time to connect with the cashier and express a real interest in them as a person I feel better and I think they do as well.

I used to have a bumper sticker that said "Commit random acts of kindness and senseless beauty." Perhaps, just for today commit a few random acts of kindness and don’t get caught doing them. See how you feel at the end of the day! It is easy to make the world a better place, kindness and love go a long way toward doing that.

What sort of house does fear build?

One of the things I love about angels is the feeling of love that they bring. Even if people are very cynical they are often willing to allow for the possibility that the parking angel exists and are willing to ask her for help.

Fear is so pervasive these days in society. It is hard to watch the evening news and not feel concern for the world’s future. When I work with people one of the first things I suggest is people change the questions they ask themselves. So instead of asking why perhaps ask: What would love do? or How can I see this through the eyes of love?

To that end I am giving a free webinar Monday night about fear and moving beyond it. It is free so I hope you can join me.

Using Fear to Create Personal Freedom

Do thoughts about the contracting economy, the state of the world,
terrorists and all those wonderful stories on the evening news make
you feel uncomfortable? Do you avoid watching the news so you can
stay positive? What if you could use current events as a powerful
opportunity to create what you do want in your life? What if you
knew how to use your fear rather than feel the need to avoid it?

On Monday, February 23, I'll be doing a webinar training where I'll
go into greater depth about Fear and teach you how we can use fear
to actually improve our lives rather than allowing it to rule and control us.

*This is a free class, but virtual seats are limited so make sure you show up early . . .*

EVENT: Using Fear to Create Personal Freedom

Can you spare $2 to save a child's life?

dirty waterThe house I bought on the Big Island of Hawaii has catchment water.  There is no municipal water system so I catch rain water from my roof. I liked the idea, it seemed very ecological. It does require work on my part to keep the water clean and drinkable. I have to change water filters and since we have acid rain due to the volcano I have to check the Ph and add baking soda. I also have a UV filter to kill the nasty things that can grow in water.

It takes me about a half hour a week to take care of the water system. When I had the UV filter installed they cleaned the water pipes with peroxide. I was shocked by all the black crud that came out. Up until then I had only used the water for bathing, not for drinking. I am very mindful of the fact that plentiful water is an incredible gift.

I was shocked to find out that 1.1 billion people have no access to clean water on this planet and that more children die from drinking contaminated water than any other cause. I have set my intent to build as many wells as possible.

I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a webinar about clean water and find an organization dedicated to providing clean water to villages. I had one of those ah ha moments and decided to help in whatever way I could.

If you click on the link below you can watch a short video and then hopefully you'll click the other link and help me give a village the precious gift of clean water. I also just installed tipjoy, so if you ahve a twitter account you can easily donate $2.

Be an angel and give people the gift of clean water. We take fresh water for granted. We open the tap and there it is, but in so many places on this planet clean water is a luxury. And a shower or a hot bath is unheard of.

100% of what you donate goes directly to the project, every last cent goes toward drilling that well! And once we meet our goal, within a year they will send us photos of the finished project. Imagine a child will live because you gave them the gift of water.

My other blog, Angels on Your Shoulder is dedicated to providing the miracle of a well to as many villages as possible, each well costs $5000. Just watch the video and then follow your heart.

Please help me, be an angel and help these people have clean drinking water today. Thanks and please ask all of your friends to help too.

About Pele
Pele is the Hawaiian goddess of the volcano as well as the goddess of transformation, passion, vitality and creation. Pele is a powerful force on the Hawaiian islands. Shortly after I moved to Hawaii, a friend suggested I have my property blessed. I asked Pele if I could live and work on her land. She graciously agreed, so I always take time to thank her and ask for her blessing in my endeavors.
