Silent Sunday

I just felt like sharing some images from my recent trip to Mexico and the Basilica of Guadalupe.

Hope you enjoy them.

Allowing yourself to be touched by an angel

I used to love the TV show Touched by an Angel. When the angels would reveal themselves and talk about god’s love I would often get teary eyed. Many of my readers have expressed the desire to meet an angel in person. I used to feel that way too until I expanded my thoughts about angels.

In the show Tess and Monica looked ‘normal’ until the scene where they revealed themselves and the light show began. When I look back over my life I have to admit that there have been many angels in my life. They just never made the big announcement with light affects!

There have been so many times people have come along just when I needed help. Some were friends and family and some were total strangers. When I first moved to Hawaii money was scarce, I didn’t know many people and I was worried. I took my dog for a walk and an elder oriental woman smiled broadly at me and pointed at a rainbow. Her simple act of kindness made my day and changed my life.

One way to be assured we are surrounded by angles is to be one yourself. I simple smile and sincere, "How are you?" when you are giving the cashier your money goes a long way. Driving ‘aloha’ is another way to show love and kindness. In Hawaii we talk about living aloha which means thinking of others and living lovingly. You can slow and allow drivers in and send love to the person that just cut you off.

The more loving we are the more loved we feel. Be someone else’s angel and see how many angels you meet along the way. By being an angel you can certainly be assured of being touched my one. My favorite Gandhi quote is, "Be the change you wish to see." So be the angel you wish to meet and see what happens in your life.

With love and aloha,
Susan

Ah, it’s Sunday

I’m just having my morning cup of coffee and enjoying the birth of a new day and the beginning of another week.

I used to hate Sundays when I was a kid. It was always a day of family strife and the day seemed to last forever.  As I get older time seems to go so fast and I attempt to savor each moment as fully as possible.

What gift are you going to give to yourself this week?

ChamuelI just opened my angel book at random to see what angel I could work with for the week and the book opened to Archangel Chamuel.

Chamuel will help you:

Overcome depression
Create inner peace
Improve relationships
Forgive others and yourself
Find true love
Love and accept yourself
Establish a career

Invocation:

Call upon Chamuel for all matters of the heart, both big and small. Imagine yourself bathed in a bright pink light. Open your heart and allow him to guide your thoughts and feelings. Write your hopes, dreams and desires on pieces of paper, light a pink candle and burn them. Watch the smoke rise, knowing your requests will be willingly granted by Chamuel.

What a nice way to start the day.

With love and aloha,
Susan

Angels are everywhere

clip_image001I wrote this the other day while I was in Mexico, but I couldn’t upload it until I got home.

The people and the culture are wonderful. We came here on a sacred journey and have visited many temples. Once again I am reminded that angels show up in many shapes and many forms.

At one temple there were two young boys and they offered to be our guides. It was interesting watching them watching us as we climbed the structures and did ceremony. They showed us around with a great deal of aloha and we were angels for each other. They told us of the history of the place and we gave them back our gratitude and love in the form of pesos.

Today is my last day of working with the group, then I spend a few days here before I return to Hawaii. At every place that we stopped, each place that we visited, and every where we stayed I had so much gratitude for the hospitality we were shown. It certainly seems the more gratitude I have the more love I am shown.

I know there is no error in the belief that the more openly I share my love the more angels I run into after all angels fly because they take themselves lightly! Be grateful for everything, especially the more challenging moments and before you know it you will be aware of the angels surrounding you and supporting you with their love.

With love, gratitude and aloha from Mexico,
Susan

About Pele
Pele is the Hawaiian goddess of the volcano as well as the goddess of transformation, passion, vitality and creation. Pele is a powerful force on the Hawaiian islands. Shortly after I moved to Hawaii, a friend suggested I have my property blessed. I asked Pele if I could live and work on her land. She graciously agreed, so I always take time to thank her and ask for her blessing in my endeavors.
