Angels on Your Shoulder

Angels on Your Shoulder

We see what we believe

Aloha everyone,

It is amazing how powerful what we say ourselves and how much the words we speak to ourselves matter. I remember hearing a joke about a man who found himself stranded on his roof during a flood. He was a very devout person and he had absolutely no doubt God would save him. Before long, a man showed up in a row boat. The man thanked him but said, “God will save me.” A while later, someone showed up with a raft.  Again the man thanked him for the offer. Finally, a helicopter showed up and he again responded, “No thanks.”

When he met God after he drowned, he was angry. “Why didn’t you save me God?,” he shouted.

God lovingly responded, “I sent you a row boat, a raft and a helicopter.”

So many people want to see angels or would like a sign from their dead loved ones or ask for guidance but then refuse to “see” the signs. I know I did, and a large part of my journey has been to develop what I call discernment. Since it was clear God wasn’t going to leave a note on my nightstand with clear, unequivocal guidance, I had to learn how to hear my innate wisdom.

I think of discernment as the ability to know the difference between wishful thinking and divine guidance. It is the ability to notice the feather sent by an angel or see the cloud a loved one imbued with their love. It is the ability to see and believe in all the wonderful signs that always surround us.

If we believe in angels, know they have the ability to send us signs and believe we will notice the signs we will. I found praying for the willingness to connect with divine guidance helped me a great deal.

Play with the idea of developing your ability to see, hear, and feel the presence of the angelic realms, and see what happens.

With love and aloha,
Susan

I love Danielle LaPorte. mentor. I have long believed the quality of life is dependent upon the questions we ask ourselves. Danielle just started this idea of a Burning Questions. She asks one, answers it and then asks others to answer as well. I going to play and I hope you will answer the quest

Amen! Thanks for using the word discernment! It takes one away from criticism, to responsibility!

Not so long ago I was unaware of the loving guidance and reassurance of Angels. I took an AngelSpeaks workshop at our local High School Adult School. Who would’ve thought that one night would change my life forever. It opened me to existence of more than me.
I have so many wonderful stories and experiences now that I stay in the moment and look for the signs. The signs can come in so many forms. For me, it is feathers. I find feathers everywhere.
My life has changed so wonderfully … I wish the same for all of you. Blessings to you and all you do!

Karen, thanks for sharing that. It is amazing how opening our mind and our heart to the loving guidance of the angelic realms can change our lives.
Glenda, I used to be depressed and suicidal. I was in intensive care more than once. Then I began to understand that my beliefs aren’t real or accurate and that all of my emotions are created by what I tell myself and not by the events in my life. That was at the beginning of my spiritual journey almost 30 years ago.
I found a mentor, actually a series of mentors, loving teachers and guides that helped me retrain my thinking. I read hundreds of books and now my life is wonderful far beyond my wildest dreams. We all have the birthright to be happy.
With love and aloha,
Susan
