Aloha,
I awoke with the words ‘blessed be’ whispering in my mind. I love that phrase, so I offer it to you: Blessed Be. I once was standing in a rock circle in England, and the woman standing next to me softly whispered blessed be to people as they walked past. Her simple blessing touched my heart at a profound level.

Today is your chance to be someone’s angel by committing an act of random kindness!
According to the website Holiday Insights it is always celebrated on August 22nd.
So once again, on this Be an Angel Day, blessed be.
“Be an Angel Day encourages us to do acts of kindness, and to help others.
“This special day has strong religious roots. Jayne Howard Feldman, the creator of this day, says she was inspired by angels to create this day on August 22.
“The objective of this day is to be like an angel, and do something good or kind for someone. It encourages us to be God’s servant in doing good things for others. It is intended to do something nice or kind for someone who is in need of help. The type of angelic help you can offer is not defined or limited. It can be physical, emotional, or spiritual.
“Be an Angel Day is for both the giver and the receiver. If you are the receiver, make certain to express openly your appreciation. And, recognize the angel in your life as being sent from God.”
(From the website Holiday Insights)
With angels, I often find it is much easier to see their shadow or effect in our lives rather than see them directly. So it can be with your act of kindness. It can be like the wind gently rustling the leaves or moving the grass.
You can make the world a little better place by being an angel for someone today. And feel free to post about an act of kindness. Please share the love with us all.
Blessed be,
Susan

In these times of great economic need, it is critical that we all step up to address the issues that are directly affecting our communities. For this reason, President Obama has launched the United We Serve initiative to provide us with tools to volunteer efficiently and effectively in our communities, whether we donate a few hours of our vacation to a soup kitchen or a few hours each week to mentoring a child.
Government can only do so much, and non-profits have been hit with a double-whammy of increased demand for services and decreases in charitable giving. It is up to all Americans to work together to tackle challenges of raising each others self esteem, and help to make our world a better place for all.
Globally, a group of us have been Pass It Forward Volunteer Online Mentors (www.aunitedworld.org/mentor.asp). To join us, find other opportunities to serve, or even create your own opportunity, visit http://www.serve.gov.

Arlan,
Thanks for posting about Pass it forward. A few weeks ago I wrote a post about Pay it Forward and it is based on the same idea. Where I live the roads are all private, so we have to take care of our own roads. There are several of us that take turns cutting the grass along the side of the road. We don’t need a schedule or to have someone tell us or to pay for our gas. We just do it.
Here is the url of the Pay it Forward organization: ttp://www.payitforwardfoundation.org/
If more of use just did things in our community this world would be a very different place.
And ‘Your Name’ I am glad you have connected with your angels.
With love and aloha,
Susan
Anything is possible with love and angels!
