Angels on Your Shoulder

The power of prayer and angels

Thursday October 29, 2009

Aloha,

A friend of mine sent me a chain e-mail that said if you passed it along, your wish would come true. It contained a beautiful prayer that got me thinking about angels and the power of prayer. When I look at the world today, what I see is a hunger, a hunger that can only be filled with a deep and profound connection to our spirit.

Last night, I had an amazing dream in which I was talking to some people about the power of grace. Grace wasn't something I had thought a whole lot about, but after the dream, I felt very loved and curious. Then, today, my friend sent me this prayer.

"May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where
you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are
born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have
received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.  May you be
content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into
your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, and love.
It is there for each and every one of us."

This prayer really described that feeling of grace. Angels bestow that feeling upon us when we open our hearts to their presence. Personally, I don't believe grace is granted to one person while being withheld from another. I think grace is something we open ourselves up to by opening our hearts and our minds.

As I read that prayer and I really allow the words to sink in, I can feel the magic. My heartfelt prayer for each of you is that you take a few minutes each day to feed your soul and deepen your connection with the divine.

With prayer, grace, aloha and love,
Susan

Dearest Susan,

I also happen to love this prayer a copy of which is posted near my workstation. When the going gets tough I just meditate on it and the prayer just calms my soul.
It's the prayer of St. Therese of the Child Jesus. God Bless...

Thanks Josephine for letting me know whose prayer it is. It certainly is beautiful and I now also have it posted near my computer. I so love this Beliefnet community. There are so many sweet souls that are part of it.

With a big thank you,
Susan

Thank you for the post. I see angels very much the way that you do--divine messages, winged with love, that come to one's thought to take away the sins of the world. Evil, sin, begins in thought and expands into action. Wouldn't it be great if it could be destroyed in thought before it springs into action? In my book The Unfolding of a Rose, I talk about how these little guys direct my pathway, and lead me to higher levels of thinking.

thanks for the prayer, I really hurt my friends feelings and dont know if he'll ever talk to me again b/c I was out of control. I apoligized and now I have to pray and let it go and let God. I will post this prayer by my workstation and read it over and over again too. thanks again.

Aloha Mamie and Karen,

Over the years I have found I have to forgive myself first, then others can forgive me as well. I can't really forgive myself until I know I will no longer indulge in that behavior. Often times I first pray for the willingness to change and in the meantime allow in the unconditional loving, magical, mystical nature of the angels.

With love and aloha,
Susan

About Pele
Pele is the Hawaiian goddess of the volcano as well as the goddess of transformation, passion, vitality and creation. Pele is a powerful force on the Hawaiian islands. Shortly after I moved to Hawaii, a friend suggested I have my property blessed. I asked Pele if I could live and work on her land. She graciously agreed, so I always take time to thank her and ask for her blessing in my endeavors.
