Here in Hawaii there is a beautiful tradition each Memorial Day Weekend called the Lantern Floating Ceremony. The ceremony remembers those who have passed from this life, whether they gave their lives in conflict or simply passed away. It allows people to reflect on the memories of loved ones. It launches prayers for a peaceful and harmonious future into the beautiful waters of the Pacific ocean. The wish is for peace and happiness to extend from Hawaii across the globe.
It is an absolutely beautiful and deeply moving ceremony. I think of all the people who make this ceremony possible as angels in human form.
You can mentally add your prayers to this years lanterns if you’d like.
With love and aloha,
Susan
