Sunday is Valentine's Day. the day of love. I find its history and its evolution very intriguing and will write all about it later this week. Thursday I am also writing a post about 21 ways angels can help you find love. So this will be a love filled week.
Today I thought I'd share a bit about the Roman god of love, Cupid.
Cupid is the Roman god of love and the son of the magnificent goddess ,Venus. At times he is portrayed as a small, blindfolded, winged boy, carrying a bow and arrow. Whoever he shoots with his arrow, is destined to fall in love. Some stories say he was born from a silver or golden egg. Cupid is cute and lovable but he is also mischievous and dangerous. His arrows contain love but they also inflict pain.
I love stories like these about ordinary people taking the time to make a real difference in the world. I have a BIG soft spot for animals and two of these stories are about saving animals from certain death.
The first story is about a cancer survivor named Joe White who reaches out and helps people when others would probably turn and walk away. He used to be a cop but now he patrols Spring Grove Cemetery finding lost souls and fallen limbs to make walking sticks.
How often do you experience fear on a daily basis? Realistically, how can angels help you deal with fear?
I still remember my first day of school. I was so excited about learning and looking forward to having a new adventure. I remember my mom walking me to school, holding my hand. I knew I was safe and walked into that classroom with my head held high. I was so happy about being in school I smiled as my mom left. Most of the other children were crying and I remember the teacher asking me why I wasn't crying too. In hindsight I wasn't crying because I felt safe and viewed school as a big adventure.

I love the gentle flicker of candle light. Even though I wasn't raised Catholic I have always loved going into old churches and Cathedrals to light a candle. Often when I want to pray I will light a candle on my altar first. When someone is going through a tough time and they ask me to pray for them I will light a candle as I say my prayer and then allow the candle to burn out on its own.
Angels are often pictured with a gentle candle like glow around them. When I think of their loving touch in my life I certainly think of the warmth of candles. I find lighting a candle a wonderfu lway to call upon the angels.
Here is one of my favorite images. Just allow yourself to feel the energy of love it embodies. Angels are everywhere.
Candlemas is the festival of the purification of the Virgin Mary. Imbolc celebrates the reawakening of the earth and in the Celtic tradition the triple goddess has again become her virgin self. Traditionally it was a time to honor intuition,...
Scientist Dr. David Dosa wrote a book entitled "Making Rounds With Oscar: The Extraordinary Gift of an Ordinary Cat." Oscar is a resident of a nursing home who has the uncanny ability to know when someone is about to die...
Angels are certainly the antithesis of fear. Here are seven angels that will help fill your heart and your mind with love and alleviate your fears.
ESPN has already fired Paul Shirley and it seems as though he brought the wrath of the multitudes down upon himself. Judgment abounds on both sides.
I love rainbows and think of them as a gift from God reminding me that I am loved. I hope you allow these images to fill; you with a sense of peace and love.
A miracle? Would my dog Ginger have been fine if I hadn't prayed? I can't prove otherwise, but I am sure the angles heard my prayers and I am very grateful.
I have read lots of reviews about the latest angel movie Legion and almost all of the reviewers seem to agree the movie just doesn't quite make the grade. I saw some trailers and I know none of them made...
This morning while I was responding to some comments I remembered this video and the Free Hug campaign.
Today is World Hug Day. You can make the world a better place by sharing lots of hugs.
This may sound a bit odd but allow yourself to hear the images, feel the colors and taste the feelings the images evoke. Playing with your senses in a new way often allows you to connect with your spirit and all of divinity in an more expansive manner.
Every time we take a breath we are given the gift of life from our spirit. Life is such a miraculous gift and wonderful adventure.
Here is the video of Martin Luther King Jr's giving his now famous 'I have a dream' speech.
I so often hear this question: "Why do bad things happen to good people? Life is God's unconditional gift to us, the rest is just part of living here on planet earth and are incredible gifts.
I posted about ministering angels a while ago. I ask that you send your thoughts and prayers to the people of Haiti and imagine millions of ministering angels helping all those in need.
I am sure the people of Haiti are surrounded by the loving presence of thousands of angels. I try to love everyone and judge no one but an article on CNN about Pat Robertson comment that the earthquake is punishment from God is testing that resolve .
Someone sent me this picture taken last year before the inauguration of Barack Obama. She took the abundance of spirit orbs as a good sign.
There are countless studies that show the profound relationship between attitude, spiritual connection and happiness. People that take sometime each day to pray and meditate are even happier.
Years ago a friend of mine gave me a deck of angel cards. They are simple, cartoon like pictures of angels that have words on them like faith, joy, surrender and forgiveness.
When we open the front door at night the light rushes out and dispels the darkness. Love can do the same thing to fear if we let it.
In British Columbia a Golden Retriever named Angel save an 11 year old boy from a cougar attack.
Prayer and meditation allow us to connect with our spirit, our soul, God and the angels. Here are several photos that I find evoke that feeling
"Stop in the name of love, before you break my heart." Lately I have been really aware of how much our world could change if more of us chose love on a regular basis instead of judgment and fear.
This weekend I watched the movie Angels and Demons. This weekend I watched the movie Angels and Demons.
Fear is an absence of love. We can either focus on faith and love or doubt and fear. So rather than talk about fear on this first day of 2010 and I want to talk about love.

May 2010 be filled with happiness and joy and may all your wishes come true.
Here are some images for you to enjoy as you allow your mind to wander and wonder about the miracles that lie before you in the coming year. Happy 2010 everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!
As promised here are 7 steps that will assist you in creating what you want when you want it! Get your New Years resolutions ready and know you will succeed.
How many times have you made a New Years resolution and a few days later it is a thing of the past? Would you like to know how to change with ease and grace?
Here are a few articles I found about people that could easily be called angels. I enjoyed reading them so I thought I would share them with you.
My your holiday be blessed with great joy, love, peace and happiness. Here is a video of Bing Crosby singing Mele Kalikimaka.
Merry Christmas! On this Christmas Day 2009 I am forwarding you a letter from God
Angels certainly play a pivotal role in the Christmas story. What would you do if an angel came and talked to you personally? A physical, in the flesh, so to speak, angel talking directly to you? What do you think your reaction would be?
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas or as we say here in Hawaii Mele Kalikimaka and a gloriously Happy New Year, Hau'oli Makahiki Hou.
I invite you to join me in a powerful ceremony. To me the Winter Solstice is a powerful time of new beginnings and a time to celebrate the year that was and the wonders of the year yet to come.
As a little girl I remember wondering if angels ever were afraid. My mom assured me they always felt safe so I wanted to be an angel.
I went through my angel book and found some angels that will help you enjoy the holidays more thoroughly, no matter how you feel about this time of year. I think of angels as old friends so I'd like to introduce you to a few friends that may be new to you.
The holidays in and of themselves create neither joy nor sadness, they are emotionally neutral. The holidays are an event, then we tell ourselves a story about the holidays and then we create our emotional response based on that story.
I recently released a new meditation CD done in collaboration with an incredible composer Devakant. He actually composed the music specifically for each meditation. To say the CD is awesome would be an incredible understatement.
As the days grow shorter here in the Northern Hemisphere our bodies seem to want to curl up in a ball and hibernate. Most of the major religions and earth based spiritual traditions see this as a time of rededication and new beginnings.
As I thought about my Fearless Fridays post I was reminded that faith really can erase all of our fears. As one of my mentors reminded me one day years ago, angels either are or they aren't
Over the next few weeks I will be writing a series of posts to help put joy back in the holiday season, relieve stress and just help everyone have an angel filled, magical holiday season.
Depression and the holidays often go hand and hand for some people. Joy to the world seems allusive at best so how can angels help?
I was thinking about the littlest angel the other day and how I loved that story as a young girl. I remembered listening to Bing Crosby sing it and was filled with a sweet remembrance of childhood Christmases.

I'm very excited. Today I am going to speak about the Divine Inner Child. I am going to try to record the talk and if I succeed I will post an MP3 of my talk.
A promised here is the contest. The first five people that share recent acts of kindness they have committed will get a free, personally autographed copy of my most recent book on Spiritual Healing.
Actually the most effective ways to avoid holiday stress is to change your thinking and the way you feel about life. The best way I have ever found to do that is by committing random acts of kindness.
I am still amazed by images of spirit orbs. Some of my Lithuanian friends have been kind enough to send me more images.
It is amazing what a difference our perspective makes. Perspective actually influences our lives more than anything else, so learning to expand or change our perspective is an incredibly valuable skill.
Great ideas come into the world quietly as doves. Perhaps then, if we listen attentively, we shall hear among the uproar of empires and nations a faint fluttering of wings, the gentle stirrings of life and hope.
One of the most important questions I ever pondered was, "Is this a safe universe or a hostile one?"
I am about to put the finishing touches on my Thanksgiving dinner. When I sit down to eat I will give thanks for all my blessings, the angels in my life and each of you
May all of you be blessed by angel kisses, love, peace and joy. Here are some photos of a few of things in my life I am grateful for.
Here in the US we are getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving 2009. I offer you a short prayer and some interesting facts about Thanksgiving.
I think gratitude is a wonderful spiritual practice and dedicating a whole day to gratitude is awesome. I challenge you this week to commit at least two random acts of kindness.
Aloha,I was quite amazed when I was doing research about the top ten fears. They were: long words (that being first really amazed me), flying, clowns, heights, death, being alone, the dark, public speaking, commitment and intimacy. Of course, no...
Recently I was introduced to Amma the hugging saint. I was deeply moved by the love she shows. She will spend up to 22 hours a day hugging and blessing people, an amazing act in and of itself.
This week's theme for me has been love, joy, compassion, prayer and meditation. Today I will share images of people in my groups that share those feelings.
The principle of compassion lies at the heart of all religious, ethical and spiritual traditions. But how can this principle affect your life if you are unemployed, underemployed, having health challenges or just simply afraid? Read on.....
Random acts of kindness make us feel better, help another person, even if we remain anonymous and definitely make the world a better place. I challenge you to do two good deeds this week.
I had no idea they had all sorts of names for fear of flying including aerophobia, aviatophobia, aviophobia or pteromerhanophobia. Oddly enough I overcame my fear by being in a commercial plane that almost crashed.
Aloha,Years ago I realized that no matter what the question love is always the answer and no matter what sort of problem we are having if we respond with love the results are far superior. Angels only have one response...
Since today is Veteran's Day I decided to share some angels, thoughts and prayers for all those affected by war.
What does the movie, "Men Who Stare at Goats" have to do with working with angels? Let me tell you a story and then you'll see the connection.
Meditating really is good for you and it is easy. Meditating is a wonderful opportunity to practice being patient, gentle and loving with yourself and all you have to do is mindfully follow your breath.
Fear stops us from doing a lot of things that brings us happiness and joy but there are some simple things you can do to free yourself from fear.
In Jewish tradition the word we translate “miracle” is nes. A nes is a sign, like a flag, waiving above a building or a marker, drawing your attention to something special. I thought about the idea of miracles as markers and as I looked at my life I saw a lot of miracles.
I asked people to send me pictures of spirit orbs and I got some really neat ones. There is one of a close up of a spirit orb that I really enjoyed meditating on.

My mind is swimming with thoughts today, instead of a gentle trickle it feel more like a flood driven raging river and I have learned over the years that's a good thing.
I found the saints absolutely fascinating. I used to mistakenly think saints were about suffering and martyrdom when in fact they were amazing men and women who had managed to profoundly connect to the divine.
When I look at the world today what I see is a hunger, a hunger that can only be filled with a deep and profound connection to our spirit. Last night I had an amazing dream in which I was talking to some people about the power of grace.
Do the current economic conditions worry you? In this post I am going to show you how to change your beliefs and your experience with money, the economy and the source of your income.
Directions for making a simple angel box that can change your life.
Recently I gotten several emails from readers asking me for concrete ways to overcome fear once it has taken hold of their thinking. I find this Cherokee story of the two wolves a wonderful way to deal with fear.
As do most holidays Halloween has its roots in several different traditions. In the Celtic tradition it was called Samhain (pronounced sow-in) and it was the celebration of the harvest and the end of a year.
Since this is breast cancer awareness month I thought I would post about my favorite Saint, St. Agatha. Her story is horrendous and yet she died in peace. Her connection to her divinity was so deep she had only love and compassion for those who sought to do her harm.
Our minds are a magnificent tool. They were just never meant to be in control. When our spirit is in control, we begin to experience a reality that is free of fear and limitation.
I just noticed that the Salvation Army is starting to take applications from families in need for this coming holiday season. Many years ago I went to the mall around Christmas and there was an angel tree. I bought shoes for a family.
Aloha,I just removed several comments that were, to say the least unkind, racially prejudiced, and downright unacceptable. For some reason, I didn't get a copy of them when they were posted or you can be assured they wouldn't have stayed...
When my mother was a young girl, she wanted to be a poet. Her teacher made fun of her poetry and my mom believed her. Based on her teacher’s opinion, my mother gave up her dream.
Angels are all about love. Love, love, love. As it says in the Tao, "Give evil nothing to oppose and it will disappear by itself."
Here is a whole series of angel photos for you to meditate on this week. I hope you enjoy!!
Since I began to consciously work with angles my life has changed in so many ways, all of them elegantly gracious, easy, gentle, loving and kind. I had angels lurking in every corner of my house before I finally woke up and started actively working with them.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. I have had several friends die from breast cancer

Today is the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. He is the patron saint of animals and the environment.
The more we stay connected and grounded within the angelic realms the more magical and blissful our life can become. If you take these steps everyday for the next 21 days your life will change in ways you couldn't even imagine.

I suggest we take a few moments out of our day and imagine ministering angels surrounding everyone affected by the tsunami in American Samoa.
Ministering angels are created each morning to bring gratitude, comfort and joy into the universe and are reabsorbed into the divine ethers every evening. These angels minister to any being in need of divine assistance.
People often ask me how to connect with angels so I thought I would share the story of my birthday hike and how the angles let me know they were there.
I find that the quality of life is vastly improved by the type of questions we ask ourselves.
Here is a teaching story I wrote years ago. The Grandmother and the children sat at the edge of a large stand of tall pine trees. She looked out over the land.
It is time to tune into some images again and let go of your mind and connect with the divine you.

Aloha,I began writing my post for today about Hinduism and then noticed the date, September 11th. I still vividly remember waking up that day and checking my e-mails. For some reason, my e-mail program had developed a quirk; it would...
The other day I talked about the power and the gift of being of service. Perhaps you could create a 'be an angel exchange' within your own group of friends.
When a child dies or someone is murdered they ask why God let it happen. Personally, I don't believe God causes suffering. God only creates perfection, love, peace and joy.
This morning I wake up dreaming about my father's last few breaths and feeling myself dying, a pretty nightmarish experience. As I woke up I heard the lyrics "Hark the herald angels singing" which was very comforting.
Buddhism teaches us to align ourselves with our spirit and from that perspective there is nothing to fear because we are immortal, eternal and infinite.

Affirmations are a very powerful way to change both our thinking and the circumstances in our life.
Gratitude has the ability to return us to that childlike nature where we are amazed and excited by all of life and are connected to God in a concrete and constructive manner.
As I watch the dawn I am once again reminded that each day is a new beginning, a story yet to be written and I can write anything I want on the pages that follow. I say a prayer and ask to be guided so that all my thoughts and actions are loving.
