I so often hear these type of questions: "Why do bad things happen to good people? Why does God let a child die needlessly, a natural disaster kill or displace millions? Why does God allow violence? Why did God allow the earthquake in Haiti?"
Life is God's unconditional gift to us, the rest is just part of living here on planet earth and all of the events in life are incredible gifts. I believe we can use every event to either deepen our experience of oneness and our connection to the divine or enhance our filter system. A vengeful God that believes there is only one path to salvation or one that punishes people is one way to maintain our limiting beliefs and deepen our sense of isolation from the divine.
Let me explain ......
There are countless studies that show the profound relationship between attitude, spiritual connection and happiness. People that believe in angels are simply happier than people that don't and people that take sometime each day to pray and meditate are even happier.
Angels are always filled with love and compassion. They are never stressed or overwhelmed. Perhaps we could learn from them how to be happy and live a life filled with ease.
In British Columbia a Golden Retriever named Angel save an 11 year old boy from a cougar attack.
My your holiday be blessed with great joy, love, peace and happiness.
With love and aloha,
Susan
I find it hard to believe it is only two more days until Christmas. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas or as we say here in Hawaii Mele Kalikimaka and a gloriously Happy New Year, Hau'oli Makahiki Hou. Here are some pictures that I feel have the energy of the season and also a picture of the last Christmas tree I decorated for my dad.
May the magic of this season fill your heart and your mind with joy.
A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. One was love the other two wealth and success.
The holidays in and of themselves create neither joy nor sadness, they are emotionally neutral. The holidays are an event, then we tell ourselves a story about the holidays and then we create our emotional response based on that story.
Over the next few weeks I will be writing a series of posts to help put joy back in the holiday season, relieve stress and just help everyone have an angel filled, magical holiday season.
Depression and the holidays often go hand and hand for some people. Joy to the world seems allusive at best so how can angels help?

I'm very excited. Today I am going to speak about the Divine Inner Child. I am going to try to record the talk and if I succeed I will post an MP3 of my talk.
Actually the most effective ways to avoid holiday stress is to change your thinking and the way you feel about life. The best way I have ever found to do that is by committing random acts of kindness.
It is amazing what a difference our perspective makes. Perspective actually influences our lives more than anything else, so learning to expand or change our perspective is an incredibly valuable skill.
One of the most important questions I ever pondered was, "Is this a safe universe or a hostile one?"
I am about to put the finishing touches on my Thanksgiving dinner. When I sit down to eat I will give thanks for all my blessings, the angels in my life and each of you
Here in the US we are getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving 2009. I offer you a short prayer and some interesting facts about Thanksgiving.
I think gratitude is a wonderful spiritual practice and dedicating a whole day to gratitude is awesome. I challenge you this week to commit at least two random acts of kindness.
Recently I was introduced to Amma the hugging saint. I was deeply moved by the love she shows. She will spend up to 22 hours a day hugging and blessing people, an amazing act in and of itself.
This week's theme for me has been love, joy, compassion, prayer and meditation. Today I will share images of people in my groups that share those feelings.
The principle of compassion lies at the heart of all religious, ethical and spiritual traditions. But how can this principle affect your life if you are unemployed, underemployed, having health challenges or just simply afraid? Read on.....
In Jewish tradition the word we translate “miracle” is nes. A nes is a sign, like a flag, waiving above a building or a marker, drawing your attention to something special. I thought about the idea of miracles as markers and as I looked at my life I saw a lot of miracles.
Death is such a touchy topic for many people. Life is after all a fatal disease, our spirits are immortal our bodies aren't. So how do we deal fearlessly with our own mortality?
I just noticed that the Salvation Army is starting to take applications from families in need for this coming holiday season. Many years ago I went to the mall around Christmas and there was an angel tree. I bought shoes for a family.
Since I began to consciously work with angles my life has changed in so many ways, all of them elegantly gracious, easy, gentle, loving and kind. I had angels lurking in every corner of my house before I finally woke up and started actively working with them.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. I have had several friends die from breast cancer
People often ask me how to connect with angels so I thought I would share the story of my birthday hike and how the angles let me know they were there.
Here is a teaching story I wrote years ago. The Grandmother and the children sat at the edge of a large stand of tall pine trees. She looked out over the land.
When a child dies or someone is murdered they ask why God let it happen. Personally, I don't believe God causes suffering. God only creates perfection, love, peace and joy.

The third Friday of the month is dedicated to ordinary angels. This month I honor Soldier's angels, people that save the life of a badly wounded horse and share pictures and angels swimming.
used to have a bumper sticker that said, "Commit random acts of kindness and senseless beauty." Here is a list of 7 ways to be someone's angel.
Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up. Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us all.
A story about Sunday dinner that shows us beliefs served a purpose once upon a time but when left unexamined they cause us to waste a lot of our lives.
Make an angel your best friend. Spend a bit of time making Archangel Jophiel your best friend and watch your life transform!
A real life story of an angel who lives in Queens, NY. This school bus driver's acts of love and compassion touches hundreds of people's lives.
