Men who stare at goats

Aloha,

What does the movie, "Men Who Stare at Goats" have to do with working with angels? Let me tell you a story and then you'll see the connection.

I've been working with angels for quite a while. Often people ask me how to connect with angels and my answer is, you are always connected. The problem often lies in our ability to hear their guidance and follow their suggestions.

A while ago I had a dream about putting an addition on my house. I called the former owner, got the name of the draftsman that drew up the original plans, and called him up. The draftsman came over and basically told me I couldn't do what I wanted.

Wordless Wednesday

Aloha everyone,

Here are some images that I enjoy. I find it useful to just sit quietly with them, imagine myself surrounded by the scents, the sounds and the feeling of the place. Breathe deeply and allow your spirit to be engaged.

Enjoy!

With love and aloha,
Susan

Love, connecting with angels and laughter

Aloha to each and everyone of you,

mauna kea.jpgA big Mahalo (thank you in Hawaiian) to everyone that sent me birthday wishes. People often ask me how to connect with angels, so I thought I would share the story of my birthday hike to the lake at the top of Mauna Kea and how the angels let me know they were there.

I find working with angels is often a practice of patience, expanded awareness, and paying attention to the details. None of which were one of my talents when I began.

Sweet Sunday

Aloha Everyone,

god in glass.jpgWhen I was a little girl, my parents would send me to church by myself. I joined the choir so I could sit behind the altar and watch the sun as it rose through the beautiful rosette, stained glass window. It was in those shafts of colored light that I found the presence of God.

At the time, I didn't understand what I was feeling. I just knew it was magical, and it felt like a homecoming. When I sat behind that altar, I felt something that was definitely missing in the judgment and gossip I heard when we went to the choir room and hung up our robes, or listened to the sermons about heaven and hell.

I was the only child in the morning choir. The women suggested I join the children's choir, but I refused. The sunlight didn't shine through the window during the later services.

As a young girl, I saw angels, but when I told the adults in my life about them, they laughed about my imaginary friends. As children, we are so much closer to that connection to God, but then we forget.

More on gratitude

Aloha everyone,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I am still in healing mode from knee surgery, so I spent a lot of time laying in bed with ice packs on my knee. This morning it was sunny, and I was overwhelmed with a profound sense of gratitude as I watched the sun and the wind play in the palm tree in my backyard. I am so grateful I have a home in Hawaii and palm trees in my yard. Gratitude plays a huge role in my life.

I remember quite clearly when I didn't have enough money to pay my rent and living in Hawaii was only a dream. Owning a home was certainly not a possibility. Cultivating a sense of gratitude changed my life.

Aloha everyone,I had the good fortune to move to Hawaii almost twenty years ago. As I write these words, my first thought is, "Where does time go?" When I first moved to Hawaii, I was told the world "aloha" meant...

About Pele
Pele is the Hawaiian goddess of the volcano as well as the goddess of transformation, passion, vitality and creation. Pele is a powerful force on the Hawaiian islands. Shortly after I moved to Hawaii, a friend suggested I have my property blessed. I asked Pele if I could live and work on her land. She graciously agreed, so I always take time to thank her and ask for her blessing in my endeavors.
