This week two of my themes have been compassion and acts of kindness. Recently I was introduced to Amma the hugging saint. I was deeply moved by the love she shows. She will spend up to 22 hours a day hugging and blessing people an amazing act in and of itself.
In her own words, " As a child, I always wanted to know the
cause of misery of mankind and thought that if sorrow is
a truth, then there must be a cause and a way out.
" I realize my purpose is to console - to personally wipe
away tears through selfless love, compassion, and service."

Yesterday I challenged you to do several random acts of kindness and then today I received a message about an organization called
Charter for Compassion.
This is their mission:

calling us always to treat all others as we wish to be treated
ourselves. Compassion impels us to work tirelessly to alleviate the
suffering of our fellow creatures, to dethrone ourselves from the

sanctity of every single human being, treating everybody, without
exception, with absolute justice, equity and respect.

What does the movie, "Men Who Stare at Goats" have to do with working with angels? Let me tell you a story and then you'll see the connection.
I've been working with angels for quite a while. Often people ask me how to connect with angels and my answer is, you are always connected. The problem often lies in our ability to hear their guidance and follow their suggestions.
A while ago I had a dream about putting an addition on my house. I called the former owner, got the name of the draftsman that drew up the original plans, and called him up. The draftsman came over and basically told me I couldn't do what I wanted.

Today is the day to celebrate all saints, known and unknown. I wasn't raised Catholic, so I knew very little about saints until I wrote my book "
Encyclopedia of Angels, Spirit Guides and Ascended Masters." I found the saints absolutely fascinating. I used to mistakenly think saints were about suffering and martyrdom when, in fact, they were amazing men and women who had managed to profoundly connect to the divine.
When I look at the world today what I see is a hunger, a hunger that can only be filled with a deep and profound connection to our spirit. Last night I had an amazing dream in which I was talking to some people about the power of grace.
I just noticed that the Salvation Army is starting to take applications from families in need for this coming holiday season. Many years ago I went to the mall around Christmas and there was an angel tree. I bought shoes for a family.
When my mother was a young girl, she wanted to be a poet. Her teacher made fun of her poetry and my mom believed her. Based on her teacher’s opinion, my mother gave up her dream.
Since I began to consciously work with angles my life has changed in so many ways, all of them elegantly gracious, easy, gentle, loving and kind. I had angels lurking in every corner of my house before I finally woke up and started actively working with them.
People often ask me how to connect with angels so I thought I would share the story of my birthday hike and how the angles let me know they were there.
Here is a teaching story I wrote years ago. The Grandmother and the children sat at the edge of a large stand of tall pine trees. She looked out over the land.
When a child dies or someone is murdered they ask why God let it happen. Personally, I don't believe God causes suffering. God only creates perfection, love, peace and joy.

Affirmations are a very powerful way to change both our thinking and the circumstances in our life.

As I watch the dawn I am once again reminded that each day is a new beginning, a story yet to be written and I can write anything I want on the pages that follow. I say a prayer and ask to be guided so that all my thoughts and actions are loving.
When we give without any thought to receiving miracles do occur in our life. That is what angels do all the time.
I am off to Lithuania for the month. I absolutely love going there and have fallen in love with the country and the people.
