Aloha,
Today is the day to celebrate all saints, known and unknown. I wasn't raised Catholic so I knew very little about saints until I wrote my book Encyclopedia of Angels, Spirit Guides and Ascended Masters. I found the saints absolutely fascinating. I used to mistakenly think saints were about suffering and martyrdom when in fact they were amazing men and women who had managed to profoundly connect to the divine.
Aloha,
A friend of mine sent me a chain e-mail that said if you passed it along, your wish would come true. It contained a beautiful prayer that got me thinking about angels and the power of prayer. When I look at the world today, what I see is a hunger, a hunger that can only be filled with a deep and profound connection to our spirit.
Last night, I had an amazing dream in which I was talking to some people about the power of grace. Grace wasn't something I had thought a whole lot about, but after the dream, I felt very loved and curious. Then, today, my friend sent me this prayer.
Aloha,
Many years ago, I went to the mall around Christmas and there was an
angel tree. I picked off several angels and bought shoes for a family. It felt good to know I was helping a family, and the tiny sneakers were so cute!
I just noticed that the
Salvation Army is starting to take applications from families in need for this coming holiday season. No matter how much money we have or don't have, we can take time to
be someone's angel.
Aloha,
Here is an article I wrote a few years ago. It is one of my most requested articles, and I thought you might enjoy it!
When my mother was a young girl, she wanted to be a poet. Her teacher made fun of her poetry, and my mom believed her. Based on her teacher's opinion, my mother gave up her dream. Each time I got my report card, my mother would be furious that I had once again flunked English. One day, she gave me a thesaurus and I began to explore the meanings of words. Sometime later, I was writing a story about a village and found the word "quaint." I can still remember the big red circle the teacher put around that word with her comment - "great word!"
I don't think I ever told my mother I loved words, and she died before I began writing. Today I am a wordsmith - I love words and have found great freedom through my writing. I achieved that freedom by giving myself permission to change my definitions of words like responsibility and fault, love and intimacy (I now think of it as 'into me see"), and by breaking all the unspoken agreements I had with my parents, my friends, and society as a whole.
Aloha,
Long before I had any conscious interest in working with angels, people kept giving me angel figurines. I had angels lurking in every corner of my house before I finally woke up and started actively working with them. Thank goodness angels have a lot of patience. Now I look back and laugh.
Since I began to consciously work with angels, my life has changed in so many ways, all of them elegantly gracious, easy, gentle, loving, and kind. Far different than the results I had in my life when I was doing it my way!
People often ask me how to connect with angels so I thought I would share the story of my birthday hike and how the angles let me know they were there.
Here is a teaching story I wrote years ago. The Grandmother and the children sat at the edge of a large stand of tall pine trees. She looked out over the land.
When a child dies or someone is murdered they ask why God let it happen. Personally, I don't believe God causes suffering. God only creates perfection, love, peace and joy.

Affirmations are a very powerful way to change both our thinking and the circumstances in our life.
Travel certainly gives us the opportunity to step out of all of our habits and routines. Lithuania is an incredibly magic and wonderful land. Here are some of my favorite images.
Gratitude has the ability to return us to that childlike nature where we are amazed and excited by all of life and are connected to God in a concrete and constructive manner.
As I watch the dawn I am once again reminded that each day is a new beginning, a story yet to be written and I can write anything I want on the pages that follow. I say a prayer and ask to be guided so that all my thoughts and actions are loving.
When we give without any thought to receiving miracles do occur in our life. That is what angels do all the time.
I am off to Lithuania for the month. I absolutely love going there and have fallen in love with the country and the people.
Today is your chance to be someone's angel by committing an act of random kindness! August 22 has been the official Be an Angel holiday since 1993.
The third Friday of the month is dedicated to ordinary angels. This month I honor Soldier's angels, people that save the life of a badly wounded horse and share pictures and angels swimming.
Why are people attracted to angels? Let us count the ways.
used to have a bumper sticker that said, "Commit random acts of kindness and senseless beauty." Here is a list of 7 ways to be someone's angel.
Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up. Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us all.
Make an angel your best friend. Spend a bit of time making Archangel Jophiel your best friend and watch your life transform!
A real life story of an angel who lives in Queens, NY. This school bus driver's acts of love and compassion touches hundreds of people's lives.
