Explicit ‘Right Wing’ Hopes for Major Terrorist Attack on US

In a sane world, with sane opposition on issues of concern this would not be happening.  The video is here.  It may no longer be a question of left vs right, where genuine issues exist over which people of good will can disagree, but between the insane and the sane, with Glenn Beck and his guests representing the former.  Torture and mass murder, good, no torture or mass murder, bad.

I try and try to find something of redeeming value in such people.  But beyond the fact that they are sentient beings who probably began life as decent people and lost contact with their decency somewhere along the way, I really can not.

The difference between right and 'left'
I came across a most illuminating post today on one of my favorite group blogs: Balloon Juice.  It began with a discussion of the character of right wing folks as revealed by what they said on their own sites, sites others did not often link to.  This helps prove my point that it is NOT true that

The case against "Pagan Clergy" 4.0
There has been considerable discussion within our community for many years about whether or not we should have a “Pagan clergy.”  I think this is a very positive development because it gets us thinking positively about who we are as a spiritual community.  We are confident enough, many of us,

Where to in 2010?
I have not been doing much political posting for many months, ever since I finally gave up hope that the Democrats, with a few exceptions, amounted to anything  more than a somewhat more humane version of the moral filth that the Republicans now represent. Of course I will vote Democratic in Novemb

Delving into the meaning of Brigid
In 2010 I wrote in this blog “Imbolc is one of the less intensely celebrated Sabbats, I think because it has fewer real world connections in our lives.  In most places the coming Spring Equinox, Ostara, is well suited to its symbolism of the triumph of the sun and powers of growth and regeneratio

It’s also a matter of the differnce between the self-righteous and the righteous. Th righteous believe in something and practice it, treating others as they wish to be treated. On the other hand, the self-righteous use and abuse their particular belief system to suit their own agenda, hypocritically using such to castigate others they see as less worthy.

Michael S’s books on Islamist insurgency contain a wealth of information. Unfortunately, I’d noticed he had a conservative Catholic nationalist streak too. His proposal to mine the borders was already too much for me.

I’ve deleted ‘Kent’s’ two posts as they were a mix of obscene and vituperative with no attempt to hold a decent conversation or state a reasoned position. Kent- if you check back, when you are ready to conduct yourself as an adult we’ll have things to discuss. Not till then.
