Al Franken gave a
thoughtful and disturbing speech to the American Constitution Society on the
legal and moral bankruptcy of the Federalist Society and ‘conservative’
jurisprudence.  Anyone who believes
that ‘conservatism’ as it currently exists has anything to do with the
principles this country was founded on would be the richer by listening to

Franken’s speech.   ‘Conservatism’ has as much to do
with America’s principles as the old Communist Party did – absolutely none at all.  But it is devoted to sadding us with a
different set of masters.  Franken
really nails it solidly.
