Very good point, Lynn. As someone with Mars on the 12th house side of the Ascendant sq Pluto, my style when I was young was to "will" my way through life. A couple of Pluto transits left me sadder but wiser . . .

My Mars is pretty besieged and I have Cap rising so I always have to ask myself "am I doing this (or not doing this) because I'm afraid?).
Yes, Lynn, I agree with Melody: you are quite insightful. :-)
As someone whose natal Mars is also in the 12th House (along with 4 additional planets in Leo, plus Uranus in Cancer), square Saturn in Scorpio, opposite Chiron in the 6th, and also square my MC, I have had quite a time manifesting what I would like to have happen in my life, free will or no. Unfortunately, determining exactly what it is that I want to do (besides astrology) has been difficult since I'm interested in a vast array of subjects. However, as you said, the trick is to decide on what it is that you'd like to do and just do it. Fortunately, with Pluto in Leo in the 1st House conjunct Mars, I don't seem to have any problems getting things done once I've decided on what to do! :-)

Thank you all for your kind comments. This is a particularly interesting issue for me as I really see Mars issues as the root of many problems, both psychological and health-related. I'm a longtime reader, first time commentor. First of all, welcome to your new home! Good article. I have Mars (in Pisces in 10th - conj Sun & MC in AQU) opposed Saturn in Virgo in the fourth. Tightest aspect in my chart. And right now I'm amidst my second Saturn return. With Uranus transiting 10th and Pluto in the 7th
Been an amateur astrologer for over 30 years and I don't pay nearly enough attention to Mars transits - will pay more attention thanks to your great article. And will cut myself some Mars/Saturn slack, too - smile.

YES!!! SURRENDER!! That's it when you get confused as I did in Jan. 2008. It was a start of my whole life just in such a dis-o-ray, really, just nothing I could do to get my JOY back, and really didn't know were it went. But finally just SURRERENDERD and now my dead end job is just that its dead and found one right in my own backyard really, I don't have to spend 1hr. driving anymore. and for friends that said they were. I knew they weren't' but I'm the kind of person that ALWAYS believes that EVERYONE has love in the heart and doesn't judge. But, now I am at were I NEED to be and making money I NEVER, EVER thought I would and doing things all that were in my dreams. Just because all I did was SURRENDERD my whole being and old ways.
IT'S ALL TRUE. ALL YOU DREAMS CAN COME TRUE. THEY DID FOR ME AND MY SON.
PLEASE JUST SET ALL YOU BEING TO THE UNIVERSE AND ALL WILL WORK OUT EVERN BETTER THAN YOU COULD IMAGAINE.
