Sunday Inspiration: The Age of Purification.

posted by Lynn Hayes | 8:18am Sunday October 12, 2008

The Saturn/Uranus series will conclude tomorrow.

The Hopi Indians have long understood the need for an Age of Purification to return our world to a more natural state. As we watch the Zeitgeist movies and contemplate the upcoming

planetary cycles that will carry us into the Times of Change, these words, attributed to the Hopi Elders in Oraibi Arizona but not confirmed by the leaders of the Hopi Nation, have a comforting prescience.

There is a river flowing now very fast.
It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.
They will try to hold on to the shore.
They will feel that they are being torn part and will suffer greatly.
Know that the river has its destination.
The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep your eyes open and our heads above the water.
And I say “See who is in there with you and celebrate!”
At this time in history we are to take othing personally, least of all ourselves.
For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.
The time of the lone wolf is over.
Gather yourselves!
Banish the word “struggle” from your vocabulary.
All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.
WE ARE THE ONES
WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR.

Sunday inspiration: Trusting the future
Astrologers have a reputation, which we ourselves and our forbears have propagated, of being able to foretell the future.  If you run a Google search for "Can astrology predict the future," the very first article is from a well-known astrology site titled "Predicting the future with astrology."

Neptune in Pisces and the question of reality
Neptune just slipped back into Pisces where it will remain until 2025.  Neptune's role in the astrological pantheon is to cause us to question where the physical world ends and a more transcendent reality begins.  It therefore rules our spiritual experience, but it can also be confusing and induce

You may have noticed that BeliefNet’s introduction of the new site during Mercury Rx has caused some problems. New posts and comments have been disabled and will be back soon.

I watched the Zeitgeist Addendum and my impression is that it’s way off base. The discussion of fractional reserve banking system was certainly compelling, but the movie then strayed from that base into ever increasing paranoia and conspiracy theory tinged diatribes. I don’t see the monetary system as inherently evil or the Federal Reserve. The movie makes it sound like these terrible global problems didn’t exist before our banking system existed. The focus on technology as the answer to all our problems seemed completely off base to me. I disagree with that premise. I could go on but my basic feeling is that this movie just creates a utopian mirage. And although it makes many valid points, overall it is extremely intellectually light weight, linking those points with massive and arguable over-generalizations.
