Sunday inspiration: Trusting the future
Astrologers have a reputation, which we ourselves and our forbears have propagated, of being able to foretell the future. If you run a Google search for "Can astrology predict the future," the very first article is from a well-known astrology site titled "Predicting the future with astrology."

Neptune in Pisces and the question of reality
Neptune just slipped back into Pisces where it will remain until 2025. Neptune's role in the astrological pantheon is to cause us to question where the physical world ends and a more transcendent reality begins. It therefore rules our spiritual experience, but it can also be confusing and induce

Leo Full Moon, February 7 2012
art by Dave Archer. The Moon will be full in Leo on February 7th at 4:54 pm Est/9:54 pm GMT. The Full Moon is the peak of the lunar cycle - it's a time when our goals and aspirations reach fulfillment as we prepare for the waning cycle during which we are generally asked to let go of something tha

Sunday inspiration: The Great Nest of Being
"Whenever we moderns pause for a moment, and enter the silence, and listen very carefully, the glimmer of our deepest nature begins to shine forth, and we are introduced to the mysteries of the deep, the call of the within, the infinite radiance of a splendor that time and space forgot - we are intr

The trouble with Demi Moore
The troubled actress Demi Moore has been in the news lately after she was hospitalized for what appears to be a combination of prescription drugs, nitrous oxide and alcohol. While her behavior has been more erratic since her separation from third husband Ashton Kutcher, Demi has a long history of

Am I quite sad actually. Mccain is an honorable man as politicians go. He took unpopular positions and made the country better for it. He fought for both the American people and the Iraqis. He often resisted the pressures of the religious right. I like to think that he would have resisted the lure of the Saudis and other non-democratic Middle Eastern regimes which think nothing of fostering Islamic radicalism and brutally oppressing their own people. For decades, these countries have squashed liberal sentiment in order to keep a hold on their own power.
Obama’s election represents a milestone for the American people. I’m profoundly glad for our country in that respect. But he can’t match McCain’s record or character – at least not yet.

Kinda serves McCain right for his treatment of Ron Paul. Trying to look at the bright side. I am glad that a biracial person is president and hope that brings healing. But people with charisma scare me to death. Lynn, what do you see in his presidency? Do you see any signs of increased globalization and limited privacies?
I’m here to try to do enlighten people to freedom, be respectful of others and – maybe learn something in the process. Lynn, your insight is much respected even though I do not totally agree… if you get Ron Paul we aren’t that far apart. Besides, do you know how hard it is to find herbal and new age friends in the conservative world? LOL Please visit campaignforliberty.com Ron Paul is still talking sense.
I am an herbalist with a life long interest in astrology and Tarot, found you looking up predictions for the election because of the death cards I had been seeing. Didn’t come here to pester

it’s 06:40 in Europe and I would not have missed this night for the world… as many other Americans. I am dutch by birth, American by choice through marriage, my children and grandchildren live all over the states. Their future looks more hopeful now. I am here in europe and not with my children because…. no health care in the states for me… I hope a new dawn is here and more social justice for all will be born through this choice man.

I have always said that I was not “proud” to be an American any more than I was “proud” to have been born with blue eyes. My Aquarius Moon is still not comfortable saying I’m proud to be American but for the first time in many years I can say I’m proud of America! WE DID IT!
Let the healing begin all around. It won’t be easy with Pluto slogging through Capricorn but what the heck IS easy? I’m so jazzed that we have finally elected an adult to the Presidency. Imagine, a leader who calls for sacrifice rather than shopping! I’m looking forward to ripping the “IMPEACH” bumper sticker off my car on January 20, 2009.

“But people with charisma scare me to death.”
You know, that’s a valid concern. It’s a useful attribute for leaders, but my first reaction is to be leery. I generally want to brush it aside so I can see what’s behind it.
Tonight, I heard people calling in the streets, and trucks are honking their horns. What an amazing time, this Saturn-Uranus opposition. I think I’ll go back out.

I don’t think there is anything to fear, and much to hope for and marvel at. I watched his acceptance speech. He was gracious and down to earth. He spoke to the greatness of the country and our history. He gave his victory to the people and reminded them of their responsibility.

I agree, all speeches tonight were top-notch.

My elderly neighbor thought that McCain gave a rather good concession speech. She commented how her anxiety had grown tremendously and daily as Election Day gradually approached.
She was coming back from an election party and she asked me whether I was coming back from one, too. I explained that I had a tradition of accompanying my elderly dad to the polls on election days, and spending the evening visiting with my folks. For a while, it was necessary, but now it’s simply a tradition that I like to keep. There had been a while when he walked unsteadily with a cane, but he’s gotten strong again, particularly since he met in the park another immigrant who has been coaching him in tai chi.
I was amused when my mom told me that she was too afraid to ask my dad how he finally decided to vote. All she knew beforehand was that he wasn’t satisfied with his options.
Later, I went out to join the college youth celebrating late in one of the parks. I passed a colorful gay bar where an amplified voice within declared, “You are ALL real Americans.” In the park, I saw a couple — a tall fair young man holding both hands of a petite dark-skinned young woman wearing spectacles. They were beaming delight, suddenly dancing a twirl, then kissing briefly.
A crowd of young people were clapping and dancing. Sometimes jumping as high as they could spring, comically bouncing up and down like pogo sticks on speed. They were centered around a group of young musicians playing brass and other instruments. The crowd sang, “Obama, Obama,” chanted “Yes, we can,” and sang the national anthem “Star Spangled Banner”
Some distance away, another group of young people hoisted aloft a banner printed with the words “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED” and slyly chanted “Barack HUSSEIN Obama!”
The crowd went on hopping and celebrating for hours. No apathetic youth here tonight. No doubt they disagree with Obama in some ways, but these seemingly indefatiguable young people must feel tremendously empowered to manifest their ideals. The world surely needs their energy and determination.

Gandhi had charisma. Or he wouldn’t have been able to move all those people in India against the British. The British were Goliath, after all. Charisma is a neutral quality, neither good nor bad. And, yes, often it’s misused because any kind of power is often misused but it doesn’t have to be. It can be extremely useful in order to bring people together to hang tough and make sacrifices during challenging times–and ain’t that where we’re heading?

That’s the Neptune effect and this is what makes some people so afraid of Obama and the “kool aid.” But look beyond the charisma to the veritable machine that Obama built to win this election. In many ways he is the actual representation of Saturn in that he was steady, slow, and extremely disciplined with his message and with the campaign. You never heard about infighting from within – he has the same people working with him now as when he started. If he runs the government the way he ran the campaign, it will be incredible.
I was really happy to see the old John McCain back last night. If the guy we saw last night had been the one running for president, he quite possibly could have won. We’ve been thinking about McCain as representing Saturn because of the conservative element which is Saturnian, but he has a strong Uranian component with Mars square Uranus in his chart. His campaign demonstrated Uranus at its worst – erratic, inconsistent, rebellious and frustrated. Last night, though, I saw the guy that I considered voting for back in 2000.
Hopefully he can put the gypsy of fear he unleashed back into the bottle so that we can really all come together as a country now.

Pundit, thank you for revealing yourself!! I think most “new age” people tend to be more liberal because they question the prevailing reality which is a more liberal stance. And there is more of a sense of justice for all rather than putting more $$ in my own pocket which tends to be the conservative viewpoint. But the older I get the more moderate I become, and I find I am more of a libertarian in my heart. What I liked about Ron Paul is that even though he has some libertarian views that I find to be extreme, he believes that environmental crimes should be punished as felonies which I think is very important. Libertarians like to think that businesses will police themselves but we’re seeing on Wall Street what happens when we let business police itself. As even Greenspan noted.

I think you will see that Obama will do the same, and perhaps even more so because he will not be as concerned about a shakeup of oil company profits that constitute the lure of these Middle Eastern totalitarian regimes.

Amazing night. Obama’s Aquarius Rising straddled by transiting Neptune/Chiron, augurs a new vision, new age…a breath of fresh air. Moon entered Aquarius yesterday at 7 p.m. Eastern Time opposing Obama’s Mercury. Amazing synchronicity. Quite a defining moment.
The building Uranus opposite Obama’s Mars (exact on March 12) is the opening bell for fresh Aquarian change to Virgo’s specific ways of life.
In early 2009, transiting Pluto in the 11th house of groups/associations once again will oppose Obama’s Venus in Cancer (exact on Jan 15, then again on June 30 and Nov 17). I see this as a compelling, dynamic force enabling a revolutionary approach to how Obama expresses his Leo energy in the coming year, especially how he uses his bipartisan abilities to melt away old divisions between parties.
Such a historic occasion. And to think, our President-elect would not be in this position had it not been for the failings of the past 8 years. The Universe in its paradoxical ways indeed works with mystery and enchantment. May the Angels continue to guide him. He is a person of destiny.

Same here. I was also impressed for the first time with Bush’s brief statement this morning welcoming Obama to the White House. Strange.

“I was really happy to see the old John McCain back last night.”
I think many expected his campaign would have been stronger and steadier.
Yes, I was thinking similar thoughts.
“In many ways [Obama] is the actual representation of Saturn in that he was steady, slow, and extremely disciplined with his message and with the campaign.”
I agree. I tell people that the teamwork, inner coherency and lack of workplace drama counts for much in the plus column.
I think that it’s been important for the watching nation and world that McCain and other worthy opponents have tested and tempered the new President elect.
Astrology’s not my forte, so I specially enjoy seeing it practiced by highly skilled practitioners. It’s been fascinating and highly rewarding to follow along.
With my artistic background, I sometimes get intuitive images, but my rational, computer programming side urges me to cross-check things. Intuition and interpretation can be fallible. Something made me blurt out to my best friend, on a lovely September 10th seven years ago, that a couple of tall buildings were going to fall unexpectedly in our native city. I didn’t grasp when or why, though I tried. Perhaps for good reasons, we shouldn’t want to know things for certain. But for what it’s worth, I think that intuition has been more quietly reassuring me lately of America’s future renewed as ever in its children. I have images of children singing, seeking, finding, listening for true tones. That’s going to continue.
Confronted with choices, we play needed roles, we each act based on limited information, and hold onto hope as best we can. I don’t expect an end to serious internal and external challenges confronting the nation. I do trust that our political process will continue to be self-corrective, and humanity ultimately responsive to the call of greater good.

Don’t forget that the Death cards don’t always mean physical death – they do mean the end of one thing and the beginning of another and sometimes a painful transition in between. Death is the Pluto card – the Will of the Higher Self creating change, whether we like it or not.

Lynn, I’m curious about your interpretation of the current transiting Saturn retrograde cycle relative to Obama’s Mars in Virgo (22 degrees) – first conjunction around December 2 2008, then makes a final pass on Aug 28 (part of a T-square that day with Moon in Sag and Uranus)?
