Saturn/Uranus: Innovation Center put on hold

posted by Lynn Hayes | 1:50pm Tuesday November 25, 2008

innovation.jpgI read this in the paper today and the astrological symbolism is just too perfect to ignore: Plans for a glitzy new research center called the Innovation Center (Uranus) which was to be built here in Chapel Hill as part of the new University of North Carolina campus extension have been delayed (Saturn) because of the slowing economy.

Innovation is a keyword for Uranus, and delay is Saturn’s hallmark so will not be surprising when over the next few years we see plans for all kinds of scientific innovation and research delayed with the two-year opposition cycle of Saturn to Uranus.  Saturn doesn’t always quash the plans of Uranus – sometimes Uranus forces Saturn to change and break free of old calcified patterns (Saturn) to seek something more authentic (Uranus), especially with Pluto in Capricorn where it is destroying old structures in order to build eliminate the forms that are no longer working for us.

Neptune in Pisces and the question of reality
Neptune just slipped back into Pisces where it will remain until 2025.  Neptune's role in the astrological pantheon is to cause us to question where the physical world ends and a more transcendent reality begins.  It therefore rules our spiritual experience, but it can also be confusing and induce

I’m thinking we’ll be okay far as Saturn goes, since it will go retro on January 1st. How’s that for symbolism ? It will keep on doing that for a couple of months, while the opposition diminishes with Uranus going direct. Barring other factors I’d say Uranus gets its chance at change for the first half year of 2009 at least.
After that ? I don’t wanna look at that now, LOL.

You know, I think the reason does not lie in the stars. It lies in the gods and goddesses of design. Just once a building in Chapel Hill that isn’t red brick, just once….

Robert, that is hilarious.
But seriously – looking ahead to the Saturn/Uranus opposition cycle, everyone wants change but Saturn is going to create some resistance. In order to change something from the past needs to be eliminated, and Saturn is just the guy to take care of that.

Round One of the Saturn/Uranus opposition earlier this month smacked me dead in the face. It fell exactly square — to the minute! — of my natal Sun, and within a degree of square to my natal Uranus and North Node. Furthermore, the opposition itself fell within a degree of my natal MC (Uranus) and IC (Saturn).
Whew!
I’ve been dealing with new ways to care for old people (my elderly parents) and old ways to care for new people (my small grandchildren) and major upheaval in my personal life. It’s been intense.
Reiki keeps me grounded, and astroloty keeps me informed. I’m crossing my fingers and hanging on for Rounds 2 and 3.

Thanks for sharing this story Sunny. Most of my planets fall between 18 and 23 degrees of something, so I’m getting some interesting effects as well!
