by Lynn Hayes Bill Herbst's newsletter has a very interesting article today about the fact that the last three presidents have had a strong Leo component. Bill Clinton is Leo Sun/Libra rising, George W Bush is Cancer Sun/Leo rising, and...
It has been a real pleasure to find Bill Herbst's articles showing up again. He is a thoughtful and perceptive astrologer especially in the area of mundane astrology.

I agree, he is a great writer. Bill had a stroke last year, he has a stroke blog on his website. Without health insurance he has had a lot of medical costs and you can make a donation on his site. I'm glad to see he's back at work!

The way Bill describes Bush sounds like he is repeating the lies that the Mainstream Media has been putting out there in an attempt to destroy the real persona of Bush. Bush is a very humble and spiritual man, with deep compassion for his fellow human beings. He is neither stupid or a snob. Because of Bill's description here, I am inclined to not believe much of anything that he writes.

Bill Herbst is a brilliant...yet down to earth Astrologer.
I'm so happy to see him back in the game.
Being a deep Scorpio...Bill's reading for me was most profound.

I'm a skeptic here. I'm a Leo, but everyone -- including the friend who believes in astrology -- laughs out loud when the description of Leo is read and agrees that I was born in the wrong month because the traits of the sign bear so little resemblance to me. I would also guess that I have very little in common with the three Presidents mentioned in the column. I do have Scorpio rising and a Capricorn moon, which is apparently enough to cause some differences.

Well. I believe that the circumstances of the Leo connections with the recent figures in the national political spotlight really relates to two other astrological elements. The first has been the passage of Pluto through Sagittarius from 1995 to this past month.
Trining the sign of Leo, Pluto enhanced the projections of Leo personalities on the national stage during that passage, solidifying Clinton's presence on that stage and catapulting two other minor political players into prominence. Now that Pluto has ingressed into Capricorn it will be interesting to observe how the dynamic changes. The second element is of course how Leo creates sysnastric linkages to the US Sibly chart. Utilizing that chart Sagittarius is on the Ascendant and Leo trines creating a natural national affinity for fire sign interactive synastric linkages. Glad to see Bill writing again, but hope he avoids the ever more common trap of interweaving current personal political preferences into any mundane analysis. Too many astrologers have ventured too far afield and are out of order with universal law.

Hi Andrea, and welcome. Your experience is very common, because the Sun sign is just one part of the entirety of the birthchart. With Scorpio rising, your persona is more like that of a Scorpio than a Leo and this is very typical which is why Sun Sign astrology, as we call it, is so inaccurate. It doesn't mean astrology is wrong, but this approach is very limited. I hope you'll stick around and see what real astrology can do!
