The astrology of singer Susan Boyle: Corrected birth date and time

Venus in good 11th house is trine from the 5th to the Part of Fortune in Sagittarius. This is a good indication of her singing talent, and a good use of Part of Fortune as the Ascendant as did some ancient astrologers as Vettius Valens.

I'm still rather skeptical about the April 1 date, despite the confirmations. Something about it just doesn't match the vibration. The April 1 chart (Please post it Lynn) just doesn't match the intensity, spontaneity and passion Susan expressed on the stage.

As an astrologer, I want to know what feeds her "stage presence". It takes quite a bit of inner work, or very strong Leo aspects, to hold one's center, especially in the face of derision and pressure. Venus in Aries trine Uranus in Leo is a possibility, however, Saturn in Capricorn squaring Venus makes this somewhat "iffy". Mercury in Pisces just doesn't match how she communicated and expressed herself to the judges. And the presence of an intense T-Square (Mars/Moon/Sun) compromising her Grand Trine makes this all the more unlikely.

Given the Mars/Uranus/Venus in Pisces trio now occurring there may be some delusion going on. However, I think activation of the Aries vibe over the next few weeks will clear away this Piscean fog revealing the truth. In the meantime, let the speculation continue... :)

The actual show was recorded sometime around January 20. Then, Jupiter was at 6 Aquarius and Mercury retrograde at 0 Aquarius. Neptune/Chiron in AQ would have been opposing Susan's Uranus in Leo. And Venus/Uranus in Pisces conjoined her Mercury.

With all that said, I'm still not convinced we're looking at the right chart (I like to feel the "yes" inside). Her Leo like performance seemed way too extraordinary - that was a huge transcendent moment (is this a cosmic April fools joke?). More will be revealed in the next few weeks.

As an aside, amazing to me how her performance was kept under wraps for almost 3 months, especially in this day of social networking.

So many big events happen. Could you provide an insight or what beneficial events could happen as to how the Uranus Opposition would affect personal planets. Born 5/20/68 at 2:06am in Washington ,D.C.

Lynn, my Solar Fire programme gives an Ascendant of 1 Cancer 47, not late Gemini, which bears out the caring emphasis you were mentioning. It also gives the Moon in the Fifth much more prominence. The natural performer that Joseph thought was explained by a Leo Ascendant could just as easily be described by the Moon in Leo's own house.

I think if we take the Ascendant to represent one's primary role in life, then Cancer seems a perfect fit, given her history.

Just to clarify to every one here. Susan Boyle's data is as Lynn says above. 1 April 1961 09.50am. She was actually born in Bangour Hospital, West Lothian. Caroline Gerard, a genealogist and very well known astro data collector found the precise location and time - time of birth is recorded in Scottish births. The data minus the time had been previously confirmed by the BGT PR to us.

Before anyone cries out, oh no so Bathgate is wrong, here's the gen. Bangour Hospital is not in a place called Bangour but in a village very close to Bathgate. The record is held at Bathgate and the coordinates are so close the rising degree does not change, although the minutes may. Only Bathgate is in most people's computer atlas but if you wish to manually change the coordinates to get the right amount of minutes use 55N55 3W34 as opposed to 55W55 3W39 of Bathgate. Dechmont is the nearest place 55N55 3W33 but it is not in SF or WinStar atlas (not the ones I have anyway).

To really confuse things, Susan is reported to live in Blackburn and some people used that. Blackburn is below Bathgate and Solar Fire gives that as 57N12 2W18 which generates a rising degree of 1 Cancer but GPS (global positioning) give Blackburn as 55N52 3W37. This is where the confusion comes from. SF has wrong coordinates. Susan is late Gemini rising.

Bangour Hospital closed down but it is interesting to note that it was already on the map before Susan Boyle shot to fame. In 2005 George Clooney produced a movie called The Jacket starring Keira Knightley and Adrien Brody filmed at this ex psychiatric hospital.
