“Very bad Mercury retrograde”

posted by Lynn Hayes | 9:45pm Friday May 22, 2009

I had to laugh when I was looking at the stats and found that several people used this phrase to find this site.  I’ve had quite a few emails complaining about the intensity of this Mercury retrograde, and if the past week has been super-intense for you you’re not alone.

This Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune conjunction is kicking some serious butt, and ever since Mercury retrograded back into Taurus it’s been approaching a square to the triple conjunction.  So not only are we having communication difficulties, these difficulties are bringing up a host of other issues at the same time.  It doesn’t help that both Chiron and Neptune are slowing down as they prepare to change direction in a few days and that intensifies their effect.
Chiron makes it difficult to hide from ourselves, and Neptune makes it difficult to see things clearly. It’s a complicated combination of planets, and the square to Mercury challenges our ability to intellectualize and clarify the events in our lives.  There IS a purpose to all of this madness – to encourage us to live in truth and become ever more aware of the spiritual underpinnings of our lives.  Not always an easy thing to do on Planet Earth!
Mercury changes direction on May 31 which will bring some relief, but it will then move into position to square Chiron and Neptune once more on June 9.  This is serious soul work time, and that is never easy.

Neptune in Pisces and the question of reality
Neptune just slipped back into Pisces where it will remain until 2025.  Neptune's role in the astrological pantheon is to cause us to question where the physical world ends and a more transcendent reality begins.  It therefore rules our spiritual experience, but it can also be confusing and induce

INDIA AND MERCURY-RETROGRADE
—————————-
Mercury-Retrograde is pretty identical in terms of finishing unfinished-business of the past.
Modern India had come into existence at
EMIT DARDNATS AIDNI
..M.A 00:21 = SRUOH 00:00
.7491-TSUGUA-51 = .7491-8-51 ,YADIRF
.AIDNI ,ILHED WEN\ILHED
The Rising Sign [Original Sign] of Modern India is Gemini. The ruling-planet of Gemeni is Mercury. The new Indian National Congress-led Government of India, headed by Mr. Manmohan Singh has taken oath at
EMIT DARDNATS AIDNI
..M.P 03:6 = SRUOH 03:81
TES-NUS EROFEB
.9002-YAM-22 = .9002-5-22 ,YADIRF
.AIDNI ,ILHED WEN\IHLED
The Rising Sign [Original Sign] at the time of Oath-Taking Ceremony is Scorpio. Sun is in Gemini. Sun is energizing the [Rising Sign/Ascendant/First House/Self-Image] of India. The City-Code of Dehli/New Dehli is 11. The date of the Oath-Taking Ceremony is 22. This is an ideal situation to take oath for the new government of India.
Keeping aforementioned ideal situation in mind, there are great hopes associated with the new government of India. Because, the future of throne of Dehli/New Dehli has now been decided.
At the time of Oath-Taking Ceremony for the New Government of India, Mercury, the Ruling Planet of Gemini/India is in retrograde motion. It means that Indian National Congress and Government of India have to finish their unfinished-businesses of past.
All the Best to Ms. Sonia Gandhi, Mr. Manmohan Singh and Indian National Congress & its allies!

During this Mercury Rx time I’ve put new tires on my car, am getting new shocks. Seems like a good time to repair vehicles of transportation!I didn’t think of Mercury Rx at the time, it just happened to come up that I needed to take care of these things immediately.
Also it’s been a time time for seeing my patterns of thinking and behavior, meditating, expanding inward rather than outward. I’ve been even more unfocused than usual in the outer world! Thanks, Lynn, now I can accept and take good advantage of Neptune/Chiron. Actually, Mercury is now conjunct my natal Mercury and square my North Nodes/Chiron in Leo. Guess I’ll just relax and let whatever happens, happen.

Good awareness, Robin. Resistance is the thing that gives us the problems – when you go with the flow things move a lot more smoothly.

I have been having a great Mercy RX time this time around for some reason. In fact aspects of it have been actually fun.
Revisiting old friends and situations, re-examining & re-evaluating things, repairing and renovating, rebirthing and revitalizing even!
Makes me feel like I sort of got the hang of it!! True that resistance is the only “re” that is futile during Mercury RX.
Thanks for all you writings. Really helps to navigate sometimes…

Purchasing a home during this Mercury retrograde has been insane. It wasn’t that there was any miscommunication (what I was expecting), it was that it was nearly impossible for information to move – from buyer to realtor to lender to seller to insurance agent, etc. I had to laugh when the chimney inspector’s assistant forgot to fax me something because she had been dealing with the delivery of the wrong carpet to an apartment she owned. Then I gave her the wrong fax number. Then my fax machine stopped working.
But my awareness of it has made all the difference. It has allowed me to go with the flow and not become frustrated at every hiccup. And it encouraged me to not hesitate to call and email everyone multiple times to remind them to send the information.
It took a little more effort, but I feel things were done (and re-done) more thoroughly than if Mercury had not been retrograde. Thanks Mercury!!!!

Thanks for your story Megan, this is such a perfect example of Mercury gone bad. But you’re right – knowing about it helps to ease the frustration because we see there is a rhyme and a pattern to the flow of these cycles!

I’m not really sure what Mercury in Retrograde means.
But I have a contract to write a book and I just couldn’t get moving. Can I blame my procrastination on Mercury. I did some work, but some days I couldn’t do anything. Suddenly on June 1, my creative energy came back. Is it really that simple?
