Carrie Prejean is fired as Miss California

Carrie Prejean’s short “career” has already been full of controversy and fodder for the tabloid news.  Carrie is a college senior who was a photo model before she won the runner-up prize in the Miss California Teen pageant in 2005.  In 2009 she won the Miss California crown, and it is widely rumored (and confirmed by pageant officials) that the Miss California pageant purchased breast implants for her competition in the Miss USA pageant in April.
Her appearance at the Miss USA pageant created a firestorm when she answered a question about same-sex marriage by saying “I do believe marriage should be between a man and a woman.”  She lost the competition and attributed her loss to her faith and beliefs.
Donald Trump, owner of the Miss California pageant, came to her defense at the time, saying that if she wasn’t so beautiful she would not have been attacked, but yesterday he fired her for breach of contract, saying she refused to attend events on behalf of the Miss California pageant and “treated everyone else like crap.”  Carrie Prejean insists that she is being targeted for her conservative religious beliefs, bt there is evidence from email transcripts of her  arrogance and lack of cooperation.
Naturally, I had to take a look at her astrological chart (born 5/13/1987, San Diego CA, time unknown).  Carrie’s Sun is in Taurus, widely known for its stubborn and inflexible nature but also a need for peace and serenity. Her Sun is opposite her Scorpio Moon which is passionate and can be manipulative with the Scorpio need to win.  With the Sun opposite the Moon (a Full Moon personality), the lunar instincts of the subconscious can overpower the conscious mind which results in behavior that is reactive rather than strategic.  This can lead to impulsive behavior for which there is little explanation.
This impulsive quality is also shown by Carrie’s Mars, showing her drive and the way she gets things done, which is opposite Uranus, the planet of rebellion and radical behavior.  She has an extremely rebellious nature, but oppositions (where two planets are 180 degrees apart) require some conscious integration to function well.  In most cases an opposition shows a tendency to generate conflict that comes from outside of ourselves rather than inside, and unless we recognize that the conflict is actually within us it can be difficult to move through situational problems.
For Carrie, this means that she has a tendency to attract situations which put her in conflict against other people when actually the conflict originates within herself.  She is outspoken with aggressive Mars in the communication sign of Gemini, and that Uranus factor acts as a constant irritant which continually provokes her into rebellion of one form or another.
Her aggressive instincts are even more finely honed because she has Jupiter, the planet of optimism and confidence, in the assertive sign of Aries.  This gives her the ability to unhesitatingly go after what she wants without fear or inhibition but is not known for its tact or sensitivity.
In fact, Carrie’s chart shows that she lacks a basic sense of empathy or compassion since there is no water in the chart other than the Scorpio Moon.  Water is the element that deepens our emotional connections and gives us a sensitivity to the needs of others, and this is lacking in Carrie’s chart.  While Scorpio is a water sign, it is more concerned with preservation of one’s own emotions than lending a nurturing quality to the personality.
At the time of the pageant, Carrie was even more rebellious than usual with a challenging transit of Uranus in a square formation to both Uranus and Mars in her chart which continues to set off the explosive rebellion that is already present in her nature.  Uranus in the sky will be continuing to apply pressure to her chart throughout the summer as it changes direction right on the degree of the planets in her own chart.
All of us at around age 21 experience a double whammy of transits of Saturn and Uranus.  Saturn creates challenge that forces us into situations that require a concerted effort to change, and Uranus stimulates us into rebellion and causes us to question everything in our life.  The combination of the two can be quite difficult for most of us, even if we’re not on the public stage. This kind of challenge isn’t easy but for a young person it can provide the stimulus required to help the personality to evolve.

Ms. Lynn, I totally agree with your analysis. Although, time of birth of Ms. Carrie Prejean is unknown. But your analysis seems spot on. Together with this Sun is also in the Sun Sign of Mr. Donald Trump and transitting Sun sextiles to Mr. Donald Trump’s Leo Rising Sign. In my opinion, the decision of Mr. Donald Trump seems absolutely right.

I don’t quite agree Lynn. That Scorpio Moon is the apex of a finger of God with both Mars and Venus inconjunct. Psychically she has often felt under attack and has subjugated her emotions as often Scorpio Moons can do. Interestingly transiting Saturn just squared her Chiron, and while now direct it is squaring her N Saturn. Obviously all authority in her life at present has positioned itself to contribute to that psychic wound. T Uranus does not help. Such a configuration as a T Grand Cross can bestow both blessings and headaches.
Another celebrity who should duck is David Letterman. After his hideous remarks on air, a cursory look at his chart and transits not only indicates controversy ( with the Neptune, Chiron, Jupiter triumvirate smacking his Scorpionic Jupiter, and the Saturn Uranus duo impacting his Mercury ) but also T Pluto retrograding back to square his N Mars. Another heart attack, a physical attack, or what seems a well justified termination are possibilities that look imminent.

All sorts of factors may be in play but no one is mentioning the significance of I think the rather crucial natal Uranus and then the Uranus transit. Anything Uranus can draw in anything gay – it’s almost impossible to be gay or alternatively homophobic without some prominence of Uranus in the natus – and if Carrie has a natal opposition to Mars (men) she is not going to be too keen on gay men. Then the square transit is going to help make her controversial about her feelings in this area.

Ah, so *that’s* why one euphemism for gay people, in the past, was Uranians. I hadn’t quite put that one together but it makes sense. Which is odd because Another Mother Tongue delves into a lot of ancient words that were used to describe queerfolk and I don’t recall any reference to Uranians in that book.

Sorry, Edna. The irony is that the leftist homosexualists who showed their thuggish nature after prop 8 and again are cheering the “firing” of Miss Prejean won’t be laughing long in that the general public sees through the “contract violations” lies and knows that she was fired for her traditional views. This launches Miss Prejean further into prominence.

Actually Rob, again I don’t quite agree. Astrology aside, this particular leftist homosexual isn’t cheering her dismissal since I believe, like you, that she was terminated for her beliefs. I never really got frothed up over her comments, unlie the blinded dogmatists, because I believe that everyone has the right to their opinion and the ability to express those opinions without recrimination, or in having those hysterical dogmatists target and attack those who dare to disagree. Interestingly enough, in California, for the time being at least, the majority spoke during the election. Even more interesting was that despite the fact that Obama carried the state by a significant margin, it was specifically black democratic districts, Whoopi Goldberg aside, who on one hand voted for Obama en-mass, who then on the other hand expressly voted in favor of Prop 8. Living here in Hollywood I can assure you that many of us in the gay community while hoping for the defeat of the Prop and not agreeing with Prejean were equally aghast at the vile hyperbole of Perez Hilton. Truly a hideous queen if there was one. The fact that the Trump organization would scour the veritable bottom of the barrel to select him to judge a pageant that continues to demean women is indicative of the callous, money grubbing nature of Trump and his minions.
That said, Uranian connections do appear in some natal charts of gay men, but it is certainly not definitive. Additionally the theory that a Moon Uranus aspect, or a Venus Uranus aspect with Uranus, ‘the planet of disruption’ or ‘unconventionality’, being directly responsible for homosexuality is inherently a homophobic viewpoint, as is the Neptune in the 5th postulation. That Uranus would somehow ‘disrupt’ ‘normal’ sexuality to be causative for homosexuality is cheap baloney. Moreover in my practice I very rarely see any consistent signature whatsoever for being Lesbian. I believe that ISAR did perform a valuation study in this regard and determined no valid correlation exists. I must also point out that everything in any chart is subject to free will. So even though Prejean’s Mars Uranus aspect might be charming to utilize as a definitive cause for her anti gay ebullience, I think rather it more indicative of a willingness to be assertive in unusual circumstances.

Preejean is a religious hypocrite of the highest order. She should have been stripped of her crown when it came to light that she had modeled semi-nude, a violation of the Miss USA contract, but she wasn’t.
“Alicia Jacobs, a judge at the April 19 Miss USA pageant during which Prejean made her highly publicized statement opposing same-sex marriage, said the pictures go beyond what the Miss California pageant says are appropriate.”
“NBC News’ Miguel Almaguer, who reported that Prejean’s contract with the pageant prohibits her from being photographed “in a state of partial or total nudity.”
She was only fired by Trump when she wouldn’t meet her other contractual obligations-
“Miss Carrie Preejean has been stripped of her title for violating her contract and “unwillingness to make appearances on behalf” of the organization, pageant officials announced Wednesday.
So, please let’s give it a rest. Miss Preejean is no Joan of Arc.

I’m Uranian (Sun square Uranus) and I’m not gay OR homophobic so I’m with Chiron on that point. (Well, there was that one time in college, but I digress.) Check out the Wikipedia definition of Uranian: “Uranian is a nineteenth century term that referred to a person of a third sex — originally, someone with “a female psyche in a male body” who is sexually attracted to men, and later extended to cover homosexual gender variant females, and a number of other sexual types.”
I have no problem with Prejean’s politics or religious views. But it doesn’t seem like she’s a very nice person, and she has quite an attitude as evidence in those emails if you follow the link.

If she had a bad attitude and didn’t do the job, he was right to fire her. She has every right to express her opinions, which are shared by the majority and are pretty mild, when you come right down to it. I don’t agree, but she’d fit right in where I live. I have no idea if her horoscope has anything to do with her personality. According to the online natal chart I had done, I have no water to speak of in my chart either and I’d hope I’m not completely insensitive — just blunt and maybe tactless on a bad day.

LOL Viewpoints are just that, totally individualistic. The culture wars will not stop until we learn to respect divergent viewpoints. Interestingly enough, the Ms USA pageant was conceived out of a ‘contract violation’ in 1950 when Yolanda Betbeze won the Miss America pageant and then refused to pose for pictures in a swimsuit. As much as things change, they remain the same!. Perhaps Carrie should start her own pageant. However, neither here nor there. The current assertions off their site by the Ms. USA pageant itself clearly states “…..Our program only encourages your success! Almost all of your appearances, celebrity events, and charity work will take place during the weekend and will be scheduled in advance.” Perhaps it should also state “unless we disagree with your political views”. Doesn’t seem to me that they tried very hard. And as for her photos…well milquetoast in comparison to Letterman’s comments. Where is the outrage?

Well, Warrior, your viewpoint would prevent someone like Prejean from living “free and true to herself” since you’d deny her the right to express her opinions. Like it or not, the majority of people in the country share her viewpoint and they have a right to express it and try to get others to share their point of view. I doubt The Donald fired her because of the controversy, which he probably liked because it drew some attention to his pageant. He probably grew tired of her bad attitude. He has no problem firing people.

I don’t particularly care about Carrie Prejean, The Donald or the vacuous beauty pageant circuit, but it annoys me when people who claim to value freedom of speech and lifestyle deny those rights to people on the other side of the culture war. “Warrior’s” comment is a prime example of this very hypocritical attitude. As for who does or does not favor gay marriage, it largely depends on where you live, how old you are, what your religious background is, and any number of other variables. When you put the question to a vote of the general population, it usually loses, at least so far. My state outlawed it with a large majority a few years ago. I voted against outlawing it because I think gay marriage should be permitted and gays should be able to adopt and do everything heterosexual married couples do. Here, I am very much in the minority in that opinion. Considering that a majority of California voters also voted to outlaw gay marriage, Carrie Prejean would appear to be a good representative for the views of California, though not, perhaps, of the entertainment industry.
I think bad attitude and arrogance did her in more than the controversy. If she’d handled it differently, the controversy probably would have been to her advantage.

Hey Fay- did you actually hear her speak? I have seen preschoolers who made more sense and were more articulate than Miss Preejean. *How* she responded to the question is what lost her the crown, not the content of her opinion. Let us just say that she went to the Palin School of Public Speaking. Even if you were able to make sense of what she did say, why the moral opinion based on the values of a smut model be taken seriously by anyone, is a mystery.
As for the accusation that her right to free speech has been violated by anyone, please explain how. She’s still on TV every day spewing her drivel. As for the popularity of the content of that drivel, remember that anti-miscegenation too, was the popular opinion in the U.S and only relatively recently, in 1967, did the United States Supreme Court unanimously rule that anti-miscegenation laws were unconstitutional. It’s only a matter of time before the same thing happens in regards to the ban on gay marriage. I think it would be rational to get used to the idea, if you haven’t already.

Now stop your own nasty proselytizing Edna. Carrie is elegant for her age and speaks quite well as she did even when she answered that question posed by that vicious Hollywood pathetic excuse for a Queen, P Hilton. Please don’t forget SHE WAS ASKED THAT QUESTION. Prejean didn’t demean the pageant, Perez’s mere presence did that in spades. As for the continual deprecation of Palin, glad you think so, however the lady has guts and courage, and every time she has been assailed by the gauntlet of karmic rejects, she appears stronger and more elegant herself. Being on the left side of the political spectrum I haven’t failed to notice the foul stench of hypocrisy wafting from the back recesses of the liberal bench. I hope that the acceptance of gay marriage occurs with all due haste, however I want to see
it achieved with the full approval of the black community who voted against it in droves.Ironic injustice to say the least. With Rev Wright now spitting pithy balls of gas against the Jews, it is apparent that the left sanitize its own house before it castigates anyone on the political opposition. And, by the way, Mayor Newsome’s use of the phrase, “its coming, get use to it” did as much damage to the cause as the black community did by stabbing us in the back.

Chiron,
I don’t have a problem with the naked human form, either but I do have a problem with deception. Miss Preejean lied about her involvement in the smut from the get go, so she must have felt ashamed of the photos, herself. She tried to hide the fact they existed, and when confronted with the evidence, she tried to deny the fact she knew she was being photographed. When the photographer called her out on her dishonesty, she blamed it on the wind, that it blew her vest open without her knowledge! She has tried to pass herself off as some kind of innocent, a devout Christian, arbitrator of high moral standards and the protector of marriage as if marriage needed any protection from loving couples who want to marry but happen to be of the same sex.
I don’t “hate” Miss Preejean, as you say or have any political reasons to do so, nor am I “proselytizing”. I would like to see civil rights extended to include all people. I do not consider that to be “nasty proselytizing” and I doubt the 47% that voted against prop 8 in CA would either.
I find your direct personal attacks on myself and other posters to this blog to be repugnant and wonder why Lynn puts up with it and allows it to continue, unabated. What is it that makes you believe you are anything but a bully and a cretin? Do you really think anyone takes anything you say into consideration?
