Sigils are codes created for a specific magical purpose. The pattern is the code derived from a number and/or letter grid known only to those who produce sigils from the known grid. A sigil is usually made up of a complex combination of several specific symbols or geometric figures each with a specific meaning or intent. The term sigil derives from the Latin sigillum meaning "seal," though it may also be related to the Hebrew segulah meaning "word, action or item of spiritual effect."
There is sigil magic in which symbols and signs are used as tools of magicians and alchemists. In medieval ceremonial magic, sigils represented various angels and demons that the magician can summon. The magical training books called the Grimoires often listed pages of angel and demon sigils. A particularly well-known list is in the Lesser Key of Solomon, in which the sigils of the 72 princes of the hierarchy of hell are given for the magician's use, including the demon Aim. Such sigils were

considered to be the equivalent of the true name of the spirit, and thus granted the magician a measure of control over the entities being called.
For example:
From the Lesser Key of Solomon is this Sigil which is evidently "for the demon, Aim (aka Aym or Haborym), ho is a Great Duke of Hell ruling over twenty-six legions f demons and using fire to destroy. Aim is depicted as humanoid ith three heads: one a serpent; the second a man with two stars on the forehead; and the third a cat."
Linda quotes a treatise by the late Mario Pazzaglini, Ph.D.on the use of sigils in alchemy. Pazzaglini had an interesting background that bridged the world of the occult, particularly Enochian magic, and UFO contact. These connections have been made by many in the world of speculative esoteric research, and also by Christian conspiracy researchers.
Compare this to the most recent crop circle:

This adds another interesting layer to speculation around crop circles. If they are being beamed by military satellite for the purposes of mind control as some speculate, and this mind control involves the practice of alchemy and ceremonial magic, then who is in control?
And now, with the release of the film version of Dan Brown's novel Angels and Demons, this whole idea will flood the consciousness of the masses.
And to what end? The mind simply boggles.

There are sigils that resemble that one just as capapble of summoning angels or planetary spirits.
Some sigils are highly personal, to be used only to focus a particular purpose.
So far, crop circles seem to be more positive and benign in message than naught. Personally I think a bunch of christian conspiracists don't REALLY know what they're talking about. Almost all of the sigils in the Lesser Key look like that.
So do the ones summoning the angels of god in books like the Arabatel.
And as someone who has a clue, it doen't really bear more than a passing resemblance to any of those. It could just as easily be a voodoo veve.
The one you call most recent is actually from May 4th.
Here's one I keep an eye on, in addition to cropcircleconnector :

Thanks Paul, I actually wrote on the Barbury crop circle here, that was a fascinating one! http://blog.beliefnet.com/astrologicalmusings/2008/06/the-barbury-crop-circle-and-th.html.
we humans only react after the fact.. we can have the answer to life and all its clues before us and we will only speculate.. so why do we only speculate ... either act or stop reacting.
I found some cool crop circle photos from google-earth at

If you search a bit you will find lots of them :)
I hope you enjoy
