Mercury is moving into position today to form a square to Saturn tomorrow. Mercury, the Winged Messenger, presides over not only messages and communication but also the way we process our experiences through our conscious awareness. In Gemini, its own sign, it is particularly facile and communication typically flows without interruption.
Saturn will put the brakes on that easy flow for a few days. Saturn, lord of restriction, karma and time, stops the presses while corrections are made. Saturn demands that we apply focus and diligence to all of our communication projects. This is not a time for easy promises; accountability is required for the next few days until Mercury has moved out of range of the square.
Meanwhile Uranus has slowed down to a standstill in preparation for its change of direction on July 2nd, and between now and then we will begin to see the force of change dominate the news to a greater extent than before. Watch for destabilization of the financial markets and political structures in general. Uranus is retrograding back for its last passage through Pisces before it moves into Aries next year, and in my view this demands a wakeup call.
Uranus is known as “The Awakener” and Pisces rules sleep, and while Uranus has been in Pisces (since 2003) the disruption (Uranus) from the longing for the unconscious (Pisces) has been powerful. Uranus will move into Aries in 2010 and there will be no more opportunity for sleep. This then is a good time to begin to prepare for Uranus entering Aries by completing the awakening process within our own lives. Where are we stuck in subconscious reactions to situations? Where do we limit ourselves by taking the easy road? Uranus always asks the question: Where in our lives can we be more authentic? While Uranus is retrograde we will have a deeply personal opportunity to discover the answers to these questions.

This is the nature of Uranus in Pisces that seemingly nothing or less important task becomes important at a moment notice. Thanks for the post, Ms. Lynn! Light to us all!

If Pisces rules sleep, and we have lived through the Age of Pisces, then it’s no wonder everyone seems asleep: mentally, emotionally, spiritually slumbering because the siren song of religious institutions taught us to forget what our souls know. Thus, with the ending of the Age, the sleepers are stirring at last. I have this theory, rightly or wrongly, that Neptune, ruler of Pisces, is a major influence on the Age of Pisces, hence the centuries of lies and deceptions that we have seen perpetrated on the masses (and which the masses have hypnotically accepted). As the Age of Aquarius slowly takes hold, will Uranus’ influence create sudden changes, and bring eccentric qualities to our world? And will we be awake to see them?

Joe – remember that Jupiter is the traditional ruler of Pisces, so in the Piscean age we have the dual rulership of Jupiter and Neptune. Jupiter, for religion and dogma, and Neptune, for illusion and deception. Those are the negative qualities; of course there are more positive ones as well: optimism, expansion of human philosophy, idealism. The Age of Aquarius brings dual rulership as well: Saturn and Uranus. So there is the potential for repression as well as change, and the awakening quality of Uranus along with the reality check of Saturn. The Saturn/Uranus opposition is the harbinger, and the next few years will be quite interesting!

Thank you, Lynn, this was exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for. Being relatively green at astrology I knew there were things I was not taking into account.
