Image from Alter Now I don't blame Obama - he inherited a disaster from the Bush administration and is in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. If he stood by and let the economy collapse so that it can be rebuilt, which is what I believe must happen, he would be tarred and feathered by just about everybody. And without a solid understanding of the astrological cycles and the fact that Pluto's entry into Capricorn began a systematic contraction in the financial system, it would make sense to pump money into the economy in order to save it.
Obama admirably wants at least an appearance of bipartisanship in Congress, but Congress won't cooperate. I'm afraid that his collaborative style of government, though effective, may not be workable in today's Saturn/Uranus atmosphere of duality and conflict. But I don't see that the alternative would be any more successful; a leader who ruled with an iron fist would generate enough opposition to inspire revolution. This is the pull between Saturn and Uranus - the status quo and the rebellion that resists it.
In addition, I am enough of a conspiracy theorist to believe that you can't get elected president without going to bed (figuratively) with the shadowy government that actually pulls the strings. My first clue to this was in Obama's selection of Geithner and Summers for his economic team. I can understand that Obama would want advisers who understand the system, and unfortunately that probably means advisers who are IN the system. But Geithner and Summers were part of the team that caused the problems that shook the economy in repealing the Glass-Steagall act which regulated big brokerage firms.
Under the current banking crisis, the big banks are eating up the small banks, just as the big corporations have eaten up the small ones. Only this time it is being subsidized by the taxpayers. The bigger these entities get, and the more corrupt they become, the bigger the collapse will be. I do not see this as something to be feared but rather as something necessary in order to equalize the basis of power which is the global economy.
Manipulation of the financial markets is nothing new; there is serious evidence that goes beyond conspiracy that the financial panics and crashes of previous eras were manipulated by international bankers. The Federal Reserve banks are not federal entities, but private corporations whose shares are sold to commercial banks. Shareholders elect the board of directors, which means that the banks control the Fed. But just try finding out who are these shareholders that are running our economic supply - it's impossible. The Federal Reserve has successfully rebuffed all Freedom of Information Act requests to discover this information.
It's a corrupt system, and part of a scam that has been going on for thousands of years beginning with the early Catholic Church which consolidated power and finance under one roof and turned the world into a serfdom. It does astonish me that in today's Internet age, where information is so freely available, that the people can still be so deluded by propaganda as to be convinced to resist the regulation of these big financial institutions.
In today's world, these powers don't have to collect backbreaking taxes. They merely convince the masses to invest in the stock market (remember George W Bush's plea for converting the Social Security system to an investment bank?) and then orchestrate a crash through rampant speculation and then the burst of a bubble. This is nothing new.
So what is the solution? Wake up and be informed. Invest your money wisely, resist the temptation to jump into a market that is ballooning for no reason. Saturn and Pluto will soon be at war, but since Saturn rules Capricorn through which Pluto is now traveling, it will be easier to integrate those two principles of death and rebirth (Pluto) with discipline and hard work (Saturn). But most of all, speak more loudly than your more ignorant neighbors and tell your congresspeople that you want regulation of these financial institutions.
Once Uranus enters the picture next spring there will be more energy for resistance and change. For now, educate yourself and your neighbors, and let the spread of wisdom overcome this cancer.

Thank you, Lynn. This is beautifully written. I've become desperately afraid that hate is taking over my beloved America. Your eloquent words, and the comments of those who agree with you, have given me hope.
Thank you for your service and wealth of information. It is invaluable.
Linda
What you resist persists. Yes he inherited a mess. But you don't throw 3 trillion at a 1 trillion problem. We will see only temporary improvement in the economy because of the infusion of a little part of the cash. He let a few crumbs fall off the table to the people that needed it so he could have a few positive photo shoots. To bad he gave the majority to the wrong people. I wonder what his sign is and why everything he touches turns to mud. Let us face it he has not had a successful accomplishment. The dollar will continue to slide because it is watered down by the three trillion that got printed up. So hang on folks this is going to get rough. Take off your rose colored glasses and protect your families.
Although in your post you make many good points, I don´t find it to be completely objective.
"I don't blame Obama - he inherited a disaster from the Bush administration and is in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation"
I see this as a very poor argument that has been going around for a while. Obama´s campaign was based on Change. The only thing he changed in Washington is the rhethoric. Now it´s about eloquent verbal justice and collaboration discourse. All just superficial shine. However, his monetary, fiscal and political policies are not only in the same lane than Bushe´s, but he has stepped on the gas pedal with much more vigor and is taking the country right into a much deeper abyss of poverty and enslavement. There are plenty of excellent economists he could have chosen who have been warning about this crisis for many, many years, yet he chose to work with those who created the problems. Practically, there is simply NO excuse for this.
Spiritually, what it shows is that the country really needs to fall deep, so it probably is his purpose to help with the transformation by furthering the destruction. Maybe once the people have been severely disappointed by him, they will finally wake up and stop giving away their power to corrupt governments.
"And without a solid understanding of the astrological cycles and the fact that Pluto's entry into Capricorn began a systematic contraction in the financial system, it would make sense to pump money into the economy in order to save it".
It would make sense to pump money into an economy that is restructuring, but it does not make any sense to inject more money into the same phony economy. This just prevents the system from cleansing itself, aggravates the existing problems and postpones the consequences that have to be dealt with regardless. It just shows the financial illiteracy that abounds. The government should have cut its spending, stopping all stimulus and bailouts. Restructuring the economy would have focused on higher savings, higher interest rates and lowering government deficits. This way the US could attract solid international investments. But such policies would initially have created VERY unpleasant economic and political consequences, that no one has been willing to face.
"It does astonish me that in today's Internet age, where information is so freely available, that the people can still be so deluded by propaganda as to be convinced to resist the regulation of these big financial institutions".
Here you are looking at the Consequences as the Problem, instead of looking at the real Cause of it. Therefore the solution proposed, more regulation for everyone, is the poorest option, as this creates more distortions plus it also punishes those companies who have been behaving ethically. And I am not defending the banks, NOT ONE of them should have received a bail out.
All these various bubbles in real estate and financial services are due to the fact that Greenspan, Bernanke and the government supported a policy of cheap consumer credit and low interest rates for many years. THEY CREATED the worst credit bubble in history. THAT IS THE CAUSE. The financial institutions are not the cause of the problem. They merely took advantage of it. When you overflow the market with so much artificial, fake fiat money it HAS to go somewhere and people will go wild over it. On top of that, not only did the FED and the government create this fake fiat money, but they also backed these institutions with guarantees, PROMOTING irresponsible risk taking. So yes, financial institutions engaged in reckless behavior and so did the consumer, those who bought 5 or 6 houses with no job or money down or those who used their homes like ATM machines. But these are the CONSEQUENCES of corrupt government policies that gave the market the FALSE SIGNALS, which were then completely misinterpreted and caused everyone to act irresponsibly.
The problem has absolutely nothing to do with the Free Market. A real Free Market ceased to exist in the US when the Federal Reserve was created. By further promoting regulations in the business world, you will strangle the economy to a complete stand still.
Good insight Analysa. We also overlook the fact that often government itself is the problem. In financially ( politically you say ) bankrupt Chicago, the Daley machine had sold the rights to collect and enforce parking meter violations and fees to a private company for one billion. Of course there were no restrictions, whispers of payoffs, then the inevitable happens where the company quadruples the fees. They blew through a good chunk of the money to campaign for the Olympics, now its gone, and the city is awash in red again. So the machine has another brilliant idea to sell off the water rights to the city. Lot of people piling onto that lazy-boy mattress of corruption and it isn't endemic to one party, business or industry. Same chapter different verse. Two sides to the same coin. A pig by any other name..... What did you expect?
