with the shadowy government that actually pulls the strings.

Personally, I would re-frame that to say "purse-strings." This casts a slightly different light on it. Frankly, the scuttlebutt around the 'Net points to the unusual concentration of Jewish bankers involved in all these money and bank scandals. Of course, one can't say that without instantly being branded anti-Semitic, but when has any criticism stopped me? I will speak my mind. I do think it's worthy of discussion, because it just reinforces the ancient stereotype of the Jewish money-grubber and it ultimately harms ordinary, compassionate and humane Jewish people by lumping them in with the criminals.

Let's not forget that the existence of shadow government and/or a small group with enormous power is truly DIVINE. It's days may be numbered but it had it's place in an era of darkness, ignorance and hierarchies. The best way to transcend a pattern or a cycle is to INTEGRATE it - not attack it!

Excellent post,Lynn. My idea for a solution, while not very profound, is much like yours. Be informed. Put one foot ahead of the other and walk on through the fog. We can put this behind us.

The stereotype of the Jewish banker is a bit outmoded - the bankers that rule the world now are of many creeds and religions. As I'm sure you know, there has always been a strong emphasis on education in Jewish families that perhaps goes beyond what is found in the rest of the world and this has something to do with the reason so many Jews are found in business. So while it's legitimate to say that many bankers are Jewish, it's not accurate to say that therefore all Jews are part of the shadow government. And for the sake of this discussion let's distinguish between people of Jewish heritage and Israel, because these are two completely separate issues.

The powers that "be" are doing a great job of masking the Bush, Cheney, criminal force that was active destroying what is good and trying to head in to mass wars. I notice Cheney is becoming active again. There should have been a deep investigation in to him, his torture tactics, his cover ups, his strong arm way of believing he is above the law. (Of course along with his underlings and patrons-The Bushes). Where is the investigation? Anyway thanks for the article Lynn and thanks for sticking to the facts. Sometimes people get off message and lose the thrust of reality. You do a good job.

You vote once every four years with a ballot. You vote EVERY DAY with your money. Go to http://solari.com/sitemap/ and click on 'The American Tapeworm', 'The Popsicle Index' and 'Coming Clean' especially. Imagine what would happen if Americans did the job our rotting government didn't and took ALL their money out of the big banks and dumped their stocks? Do you think they'd be in business long?

You nailed it with this on Lynn. The system is designed to keep people in perpetual slavery without actually having to force them physically. It's incredible really, more and more I hear people saying "I'll never retire". It's amazing how they've been duped. I have pulled all my money out of the stock market and have no plans to go back in. But whether or not that plan turns out, the reason for people's enslavement isn't just the corrupt system, its the ideal of materialism. Rather than have a reasonable retirmement, people demand all the trappings of wealth for themselves, and turn a blind eye to how the toll adds up and what it means for their future. It's a culture of material entitlement. We created this mess just as much as they did.

The Jewish thing: my understanding is that in Europe in past centuries Jews were forbidden to engage in most trades, and banking was one of the few left to them, and that is why you get so many Jews in banking.

The Fed Banks ownership thing: there's a good article at http://www.usagold.com/federalreserve.html. Part of the motive in emphasising the shadowy ownership seems to be people wanting to prove it is foreign powers that really control the US. Anyway, this article looks at the New York Federal Reserve Bank in particular, and it seems quite convincing that it is probably owned entirely by commercial banks which, being publicly traded, have to reveal the names of their shareholders, even though the Reserve Banks themselves do not have to, being privately owned.

By the way, that link above, I thought for a moment I was the victim of a conspiracy, but you need to remove the full stop at the end or it won't work. Here it is again: http://www.usagold.com/federalreserve.html

Thanks for all of your comments, and DR thanks for that link. It's true that the commercial banks are publicly traded and have to reveal the names of their shareholders, but there seems to be no requirement for the any of the Fed banks to reveal the banks that are THEIR shareholders. That keeps the whole problem in the shadows and makes it very suspicious.

The ex chief of BOA-Ken Steele moved over as head of the bank two weeks ago. Any one can see that the public dislike for this man was getting too great. Banks want to do their dirty laundry below the radar. Did you know for years all the big banks were letting checks cashed by boiler room operations, of the elderly without a signature on the check.Billions of dollars were just stolen. The government slapped them on the hand and 3/4 went back and continued to illegally pass checks. So in order to keep up these crimes they have to operate just below public feeling. Ken Steele was eliciting too much public feeling so he moved over, he is still in power at BOA.

Thank you, Lynn. This is beautifully written. I've become desperately afraid that hate is taking over my beloved America. Your eloquent words, and the comments of those who agree with you, have given me hope.

What you resist persists. Yes he inherited a mess. But you don't throw 3 trillion at a 1 trillion problem. We will see only temporary improvement in the economy because of the infusion of a little part of the cash. He let a few crumbs fall off the table to the people that needed it so he could have a few positive photo shoots. To bad he gave the majority to the wrong people. I wonder what his sign is and why everything he touches turns to mud. Let us face it he has not had a successful accomplishment. The dollar will continue to slide because it is watered down by the three trillion that got printed up. So hang on folks this is going to get rough. Take off your rose colored glasses and protect your families.

Although in your post you make many good points, I don´t find it to be completely objective.

"I don't blame Obama - he inherited a disaster from the Bush administration and is in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation"

I see this as a very poor argument that has been going around for a while. Obama´s campaign was based on Change. The only thing he changed in Washington is the rhethoric. Now it´s about eloquent verbal justice and collaboration discourse. All just superficial shine. However, his monetary, fiscal and political policies are not only in the same lane than Bushe´s, but he has stepped on the gas pedal with much more vigor and is taking the country right into a much deeper abyss of poverty and enslavement. There are plenty of excellent economists he could have chosen who have been warning about this crisis for many, many years, yet he chose to work with those who created the problems. Practically, there is simply NO excuse for this.

Spiritually, what it shows is that the country really needs to fall deep, so it probably is his purpose to help with the transformation by furthering the destruction. Maybe once the people have been severely disappointed by him, they will finally wake up and stop giving away their power to corrupt governments.

"And without a solid understanding of the astrological cycles and the fact that Pluto's entry into Capricorn began a systematic contraction in the financial system, it would make sense to pump money into the economy in order to save it".

It would make sense to pump money into an economy that is restructuring, but it does not make any sense to inject more money into the same phony economy. This just prevents the system from cleansing itself, aggravates the existing problems and postpones the consequences that have to be dealt with regardless. It just shows the financial illiteracy that abounds. The government should have cut its spending, stopping all stimulus and bailouts. Restructuring the economy would have focused on higher savings, higher interest rates and lowering government deficits. This way the US could attract solid international investments. But such policies would initially have created VERY unpleasant economic and political consequences, that no one has been willing to face.

"It does astonish me that in today's Internet age, where information is so freely available, that the people can still be so deluded by propaganda as to be convinced to resist the regulation of these big financial institutions".

Here you are looking at the Consequences as the Problem, instead of looking at the real Cause of it. Therefore the solution proposed, more regulation for everyone, is the poorest option, as this creates more distortions plus it also punishes those companies who have been behaving ethically. And I am not defending the banks, NOT ONE of them should have received a bail out.

All these various bubbles in real estate and financial services are due to the fact that Greenspan, Bernanke and the government supported a policy of cheap consumer credit and low interest rates for many years. THEY CREATED the worst credit bubble in history. THAT IS THE CAUSE. The financial institutions are not the cause of the problem. They merely took advantage of it. When you overflow the market with so much artificial, fake fiat money it HAS to go somewhere and people will go wild over it. On top of that, not only did the FED and the government create this fake fiat money, but they also backed these institutions with guarantees, PROMOTING irresponsible risk taking. So yes, financial institutions engaged in reckless behavior and so did the consumer, those who bought 5 or 6 houses with no job or money down or those who used their homes like ATM machines. But these are the CONSEQUENCES of corrupt government policies that gave the market the FALSE SIGNALS, which were then completely misinterpreted and caused everyone to act irresponsibly.

The problem has absolutely nothing to do with the Free Market. A real Free Market ceased to exist in the US when the Federal Reserve was created. By further promoting regulations in the business world, you will strangle the economy to a complete stand still.

Good insight Analysa. We also overlook the fact that often government itself is the problem. In financially ( politically you say ) bankrupt Chicago, the Daley machine had sold the rights to collect and enforce parking meter violations and fees to a private company for one billion. Of course there were no restrictions, whispers of payoffs, then the inevitable happens where the company quadruples the fees. They blew through a good chunk of the money to campaign for the Olympics, now its gone, and the city is awash in red again. So the machine has another brilliant idea to sell off the water rights to the city. Lot of people piling onto that lazy-boy mattress of corruption and it isn't endemic to one party, business or industry. Same chapter different verse. Two sides to the same coin. A pig by any other name..... What did you expect?
