by Lynn HayesAs the world knows by now, 6-year old Falcon Heene's parents called 911 emergency services on October 15, 2009 to report that young Falcoln had been abducted by an errant helium balloon. The 911 call reported that Falcon...
Thanks for tackling this one! Although I didn’t follow the story when it was happening, I did see the defiant dad on video and two things came to mind: 1) he is a publicity hound and a liar, and 2) I wonder what Lynn Hayes will have to say about this!
Richard Heene irritates me because he mirrors traits I dislike in myself, i.e. the craving for applause and fame. I like to think I actually “do” something to earn the meager media coverage I get, but with a South Node in the 10th house, if I never get famous, no big deal, it’s just not my true path. I look forward to your getting some accurate birth data so you can really sink your teeth into this!

Or maybe the guy's just a jerk who used three vulnerable children for his own selfish desire for fame. If he did this on purpose, he should pay the bill and be ignored for the rest of his life. That's the worst punishment.

This is a story about a father who failed to support his family for years as Lynn found liens against him. He took his best shot at the American dream as he saw it. Now the law and angry Americans are trying to throw the book at him. We had compassion as the empty balloon with a possible little boy sailed through the sky. We are mad at him for not having his own bootstraps. We are mad that he tried to dupe the very rich television moguls. We need to arrive at a deeper compassion, one we have for our sick, poor, and hungry, for this man. As a country we need to forgive him.

This guy is not a Madoff. He didn't rip off charities for billions. He didn't make old men who were comfortable-poor, losing their life savings. People when they see themselves scraping the bottom get mighty desperate. In our hearts we even have to forgive Madoff If we want to obey the angels of light and their master God herself or himself. So let us pray that Heene finally gets it together, he is us.

I disagree, MWF, Heene is not us. He is a weak and lazy individual who rather than seeking to develop himself and his skills and talents, used his children in an effort to prop up his vanity and desire to aggrandize himself. There's an interesting article here from a friend of his that adds insight to the situation: http://gawker.com/5383858/exclusive-i-helped-richard-heene-plan-a-balloon-hoax.

It's too bad Lynn that you couldn't find any more accurate birth data on the Dad… I'm sure it would help explain a lot.
I have to say that when this whole balloon boy thing started, it smelled like a hoax. Reports I heard early on mentioned the family being in one reality show and trying to "pitch" another. And then how could a 6 or 7 year old kid get that thing off the ground without help???
I'm just glad no serviceman or rescue worker got hurt trying to "rescue" someone inside that balloon. Also that the boy is safe… though I'd hate to be in his shoes now in that house. Bet Dad's pretty mad at him.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this Lynn, interesting as always,

I guess a little bit of information can be dangerous. When I read how he used these little boys-teaching them that life is a show I had a change in vision. Thanks.
