Amazing! A positive article about psychic readings

posted by Lynn Hayes | 6:06pm Thursday January 7, 2010

Perhaps we really are in the Age of Aquarius!  In this article in the Independent from the UK, a self-avowed “sceptic” [sic] decided to see what all the fuss was about and with an open mind, sampled the wares of several psychic readers.  One of the readers he sees gives him an inaccurate reading, but it turns out to be very accurate for the photographer who accompanied him.

It’s unfortunate that this writer did not visit an astrologer.  Psychic readers and mediums can be very much on target, and they can also be very wrong.  This is not always the fault of the reader; sometimes a client can be very difficult to read.  Astrologers have an advantage here, because even though intuition or psychic ability can help to give a more accurate projection of the chart, the chart itself provides an abundance of correct and accurate information.
I wish that Mr. Monkey, the skeptic that hung out here for a while, had been willing to approach the question of astrology with an open mind.  He wanted to create a scientific test for astrology, but was not willing to submit his birth details for an interpretation.  My longtime readers will remember the Skeptics Challenge that I did a few years ago, where my entire blog was hijacked by a group of skeptics who though unwilling to test astrology for themselves were quite willing to denigrate its value.
Hopefully we’ll start to see articles like this about astrologers in the mainstream news soon.

Neptune in Pisces and the question of reality
Neptune just slipped back into Pisces where it will remain until 2025.  Neptune's role in the astrological pantheon is to cause us to question where the physical world ends and a more transcendent reality begins.  It therefore rules our spiritual experience, but it can also be confusing and induce

It’ll depend on the publication and the person. I’m a journalist and I don’t necessarily rule out the possibility that some people are actually psychic. My little brother had a way of knowing things he shouldn’t have known when he was a preschooler, though he lost a lot of that when he grew up. I have no psychic ability whatsoever.
I did notice that the person who set up a fortune telling/psychic reading shop was next door to one of those seedy check cashing places and a tattoo parlor. She closed up shop within a month or two. I couldn’t really see myself doing a story on that person. I did do something on a remote viewing workshop about 10 years ago and that was quite interesting.

I am heartened to see the article. Both types of practitioners can be amazingly accurate. My own methodology combines both, and has proven to be on the money for me many, many times. I usually cast a natal horoscope and then print that out along with the current transits and progressions. After doing some astrological analysis, i then pull tarot cards to lay one on each house which then adds a wonderful layer of added meaning into the analysis. For fun, I then sometimes cast playing cards similarly around the wheel. It helps if your clairsentient. What is important to anyone who visits either an astrologer or a psychic is selecting an accomplished practitioner who knows his/her craft very well. Like in any other field of endeavor there are those who belong in the majors, those that fit best into the minors, and those that should stick to sandlots. Do your homework.

Interesting article, but still felt it was suspicious of anything 6 sensory. Let’s hope progress will be made before our Sun turns into a nova!
Incidentally, as a “word person” I noticed that you put quotes around sceptic. That’s the British spelling of skeptic, but you also say you’re a “practising” (Brit spelling rather than practicing, American spelling) astrologer. Just being a little snarky about language. Don’t mean to criticize, and I love all your posts.

Also one should be very very discerning of any psychic they go to and avoid the storefront psychic. The vast majority are scam artists that prey on people at their weakest moments and bilk for money. Instead seek out a reputable psychic instead who had great references. Trust your gut.
