Belief Beat usually covers hard news or stories that make multiple headlines, but now that it’s March, let’s look back at a few interesting February features you may have missed:
- Gay Parenting Takes Off In Bible Belt (CNN Belief Blog)
- Spanish Nun Leaves Convent Over Facebook (National Catholic Reporter)
- In an Amish Village, the SEC Charges Financial Fraud (Washington Post)
(The last one isn’t really a twist, given that affinity fraud commonly preys on religious communities and people of faith, but we tend to have a more romanticized view of the Amish.)

I can’t believe that those gay and lesbian parents have it “easy” in the deep south, but I’m glad they feel comfortable coming out and raising their children.
The nun who was asked to leave her convent? She may find she is happier in the outside world after all. Wonder if the convent has a back up computer person??
