Really LOVED all of the POPE Coverage! I was especially touched when he was with the children at the U.N., and the way he took time to speak and be affectionate with the faithful! Such love shown toward him, and it wasn't idolatry in any way, but was respectful, holy, and had a beautiful intensity. I SHED TEARS MANY TIMES!!
The Holy Father's face was radiant with joy and love. His message, very powerful and a strong focus toward The Great Commission, and living a consecrated life unto GOD!
Jesus Christ, Our Blessed Hope!
I am a 'Catholic Watcher/ and I desire to someday become a Catholic! But I am presently a strong, practicing Spiritfilled/Pentecostal worship leader. I love the pagentry and the beauty of the symbols of the Mass. I LOVE THE LORD!!! I would love to learn the meaning of every thing used during Mass. The Mass at St. Patrick's was especially beautiful and interesting to watch. So many people to help Il PaPa at the altar. Could you share with me the order of service and the significance of each utensil? Thanks, and God Bless you !!!!
...nearly forgot to read his text in Spanish. Not Latin.
Mr. Fortier:
There are so many symbols hidden in the Catholic Mass (Service). Many come from Scripture in the Old and New Testament. It would take me hours to describe each. These phrases in the Service have been in used since the Early Church. You might want to explore the lives of the Early Church Fathers such as St. Polycarp and St. Iraenus. There is a Catholic Cable Network, named EWTN. They have link for those of us who are exploring the richness of Christ in the Catholic Faith. You may go to EWTN.com. It will provide you with the resources that will help you answer your questions. In our Catholic Church, we have room for our "spirit-filled" gifts. We have many saints who were given the gift of Knowledge, courage, interpretation, prophecy, etc. You may find many "pentecostal" brothers and sisters who have made the journey to our Catholic Faith. There is a program called the Journey Home hosted by Marcus Grodi. He can help you bring you into contact with people who can answer all of your questions. You will find that you are never meant to take the journey of faith alone. The Holy Spirit always guide us to the truth. I am praying right now that you will be able to read Christ's message in our faith. Your sister in Christ, Sara
Looking forward to more posts about Sunday's events....
Oops, yes, Mollie, thanks, that was Spanish. Maybe I had "Latino" on the brain.
He'd never forget Latin!
Great plug for EWTN, Sara, how right you are. As one who converted as an adult in 1949, I enjoy the Journey Home very much. I am always amazed at the great interventions that God exerts to give everyone a chance for salvation if they will only listen when he calls. When I visited the Golden Cathedral in Panama City in 1946 with a Catholic friend on the way back from occupation duty in Japan (my first visit to a Catholic Church)I was stunned to silence by the unmistakable presence that God manifested to me. Returning from the war to a bigoted family with a Methodist bishop as an uncle, I answered the call the first time a chance presented itself when my Catholic girlfriend (who became my wife)at my insistence introduced me to a priest. I can assure you that God does not desert those who answer his call. The first manifestation was not the last.
What a wonderful blessing you have experienced, Mr. RelicMM. The Lord uses so many beautiful ways to reach all of us...Constantly!!
Despite our human failures and weaknesses, He just uses His Presence through the Eucharist, Reconciliation and answers to our prayers. The answers that we expect fall far short from the answers He knows we need and sends us. I, too, have been "stunned to silence by the unmistakable presence of God". May He always keep manifesting Himself to you. Respectfully, Sara
