Don’t mean to be a downer on an “encouragement” thread, but I was thinking of Martin Luther King’s “I have been to the mountaintop … I have seen the promised land” speech the day before he died in 1968 — after Benazir Bhutto’s assassination.
I can turn this into a positive, though. What King wrought, and Bhutto may yet bring to her native land, will echo for decades to come.
We don’t always know the little things we do that may make a big difference for other people. Like George Bailey in “IAWL” or “Six Degrees of Separation” or “Pay It Forward.”
I think Cheryl said it herself (and I’m going by memory) — we may think we are nobody, but we are everybody to somebody.

I say this a lot here at Beyond Blue “My Life is a love song, sung to me by God”, and one of the major reasons is a song by Joe Cocker. I do stand up God comedy, and I’ve said this here also “Nobody thinks God’s sense of humor is one dam bit funny, but God!” I usually end my routine, saying “Many times in this world, we feel that we just don’t measure up, we are alWays a little bit short of hitting the mark. We are not smart enough, or good looking enough, sucessfull enough…In spite of what we do in this world, or how and why we do it, there is someone out there, who continues to Love us, no matter what. Love us with Uncompromising, Unconditional Love ! At this point in my Life, I look at songs, as being to God or from God … all of them, and most of them are Love songs, and I think this song, can be seen as to God, but in particular, from God, and it says it all to me!” … and then I go into Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful”

Joe Cocker’s ‘You Are So Beautiful’ really does say it all!!! Did you check out Ray Charles and Joe Cocker performing it? OMG!! So,so awesomely,wonderful,I love watching and listening to Ray Charles as well as Joe Cocker…..and together…magic!!! The adhd in me got pleasantly lost watching video after video,for over an hour on youtube after clicking on the link in your post.Music is so healing for heart and soul! Thanks for the reminder!
