Now which piece (or 10 pieces) of that advice do you really think people will take, Therese?
"Gimme a break, gimme a break, break me off a piece of that ..."
We gave up real trees years ago, after the "Season" (like Jan 15) every dam needle fell on the rug, while trying to get it out of the house! And it took 3 months to get them out of the rug. But it dis bring back Christmas memories, every time my wife vacumed the rug (if I had to do it, I would have bought new rugs, hah!) Real trees are now illegal in churches in NJ,because of the fire hazard ! You just can't get a break with the Law anymore, with this Zero Tollerance crap! (Isn't that all in Revelation? ...hmmmm)

HO! HO! HO!
I'm not sure weather to laugh or cry. I have heard recently there is, seriously, stirrings to stop the use of the traditional greeting of "HO HO HO" by Santa's… Do you believe this? Can this truly be fact?
It seems that concerned citizens ( probably the same citizens that fought to get prayer out of schools and feel that the word Christ should be taken out of our "Christian" Holiday Season now wants to pick on the last icon of Christmas we haven't seen attacked.
The reasons cited were, first of all the loud booming voice of the Santa's yelling "HO" "HO" "HO" is considered to be frightening to young children and secondly the "Poor" connotation given to the word "HO" as used in the slang of recent years..
I know, I know, why am I getting so worked up about a few "HO'S"? Well it is just another log on the fire that is steadily consuming our American Traditions that were established by our ancestors in loving care as they built our Young Nation… How easily we seem to let go of the little things without realizing what part each plays in the puzzle of our heritage or considering the great price our forefathers paid to start this new Free Nation called America
(AND THE BAND PLAYS AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL)
Given the fact that the ganhsta rappers haven't given in to the pressure to ban the word "Ho" (and others) or desist performing misogtnist lyrics, I hold out hope that the santas od the world will be just as stubborn! Isn't "fear/love of Santa" part of the tradition anyway. (Any mother who has struffled to convince her toddler to approach him in the malls or de[artment stores across America,
DID IT AGAIN! (HOPEFULLY FOR THE FINAL TIME THIS UEAR! p-)
aNYWAY, COAXING YOUR LITTLE ONE TO GET ON SANTA'S LAP GOT A PHOTO OP HAS always BEEN A PART OF cHRISTMAS; FEAR IS NOTHING NEW! Consequently, that reasoning doesm't hold water any more than all the little ones on Santa's lap do! What's next? Many communities have already given up their community creches as have many schools their "Christmas Progtrams, at least in terms of content. Those customs contain many of my fondest Christmas memories! (Here's where I need "give me a break, Gimme a break..." Larry!
