I didn’t know how last night was going to go, because I’ve never done anything like that before. But I have to say that when 8:00 came around, I felt better, like I had been to a support group.
So here’s what we did.
Everyone who logged on became a number. Wisdum was person 1, so when another person logged in (Sharon), she became person 2. So Wisdum will visit Sharon’s homepage on the Beliefnet Community site, maybe correspond with her a few times to get to know her, and write a letter of affirmation that he will send her via private e-mail. Next week we might share some of the letters, or maybe here on Beyond Blue.
Our list is below, but we can always add people if there are any of you that want to be in on it but couldn’t participate last night.
Wisdum (person 1) writes to Sharon
Sharon (person 2) writes to Larry
Larry (person 3) writes to Joni
Joni (person 4) writes to songbird.
Songbird (person 5) writes to Joyce
Joyce (person 6) writes to Jackie
Jackie (person 7) writes to Beth
Beth (person 8) writes to Therese
Therese (person 9) writes to Marilyn
Marilyn (person 10) writes to Cheryl
Cheryl (person 11) writes to Wisdum.
Suzanne (person 12) writes to MerryMe
MerryMe (person 13) writes to Stardustian
Stardustiam (person 14) writes to Cherokee/Irish
Cherokee/Irish (person 15) writes to Suzanne.

How Do You Heal Loneliness?
If I had to name the most common complaint I hear among depressives, it is that they are lonely. Just five minutes ago, I replied on a thread within Group Beyond Blue to a woman who started a thread called "Who Do I Turn To?" She wants so badly to connect with another woman--as the anchors in her li

Rewire Your Brain For Love: An Interview with Marsha Lucas, Ph.D.
In the spirit of Valentine's Day, I thought I’d feature an interview with a very cool licensed psychologist and neuropsychologist that I was lucky enough to meet in person at a book signing back in September. Marsha Lucas, Ph.D., has been practicing psychotherapy and studying the brain-behavior re

Love Deeply ...
Valentine's Day is a good time to remember all the ways we can be loving, not just to the guy/gal sitting across from you at the kitchen table, but also your boss, your mother, your boss's mother, and her mother. One of my very favorite reflections from Henri Nouwen is "Love Deeply," found in hi

Therapy Thursday: Sweat
I have decided to dedicate a post on Thursday to therapy, and offer you the many tips I have learned on the couch. They will be a good reminder for me, as well, of something small I can concentrate on. Many of them are published in my book, "The Pocket Therapist: An Emotional Survival Kit." Work

Scrupulosity: What It Is and Why It's Dangerous
If you sprinkle a hefty dose of Catholic (or Jewish) guilt unto a fragile biochemistry headed toward a severe mood disorder, you usually arrive at some kind of a religious nut. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! For I am one. I have said many places that growing up Catholic, for me, was

I didn’t have a clue as to how this was going to work! And of course how it did was beyond my control (and perhaps even Therese’s also)We were asked to write an afirmative self-esteem comment on somebody we did not know or even have a clue. It was brilliant! In order to accomplish that we first had to visit that person’s community Page and see if we could get inside their head (quite a challenge to be sure !) Along the Way, we also get to meet another Sojourner along this Road Called Love, and we get to hold hands in sighberspace … How cool is that ! Talking about bringing the world together ! Beliefnet and ALL of you, who are part of making and helping God accomplish bringing His Kingdom, here on Earth and to fruition … I applaud you ALL !…More Ppwer to you … AMEN ! ALLELUJAH !
LUV 2 ALL

Wisdum: I prayed really hard before I logged on! “Lord, I have no idea what I am trying to do, but could you do me a favor and be there????” Therese
I just sent Marilyn her letter. It felt good.

Diddo, Diddo, Diddo,
I too have to share beyond a shadow of doubt,God showed up and moved each and everyone of us one friendship closer in His likeness. I too felt clueless going in and what I received in return is what having faith is all about. I truly look forward to continuing in this forum in hopes that it goes around full circle that we might get to meet each participant one on one. That would be so cool! and sharing our letters too because I feel or at least from my author(Wisdum) that it would be selfish for me to keep it to myself, in order to keep it you have to give it away.

Got my letter, thanked my writer for her letter, sent out my letter.
Maybe this “Pay It Forward” thing isn’t so bad after all :-P

I’m still a little too technophobic to participate but it sounds like it was a laudible success!!! I look forward to reading whatever you brave souls want to put out there. I feel a little hopeful for a pleasant change. I’m glad God jumped on in there. He’s been getting a little ignored by the general public. Did anyone see Ben Stein on CBS Sunday morning? I thought he was brilliant!
