Therapy Thursday: Sweat
I have decided to dedicate a post on Thursday to therapy, and offer you the many tips I have learned on the couch. They will be a good reminder for me, as well, of something small I can concentrate on. Many of them are published in my book, "The Pocket Therapist: An Emotional Survival Kit." Work

Scrupulosity: What It Is and Why It's Dangerous
If you sprinkle a hefty dose of Catholic (or Jewish) guilt unto a fragile biochemistry headed toward a severe mood disorder, you usually arrive at some kind of a religious nut. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! For I am one. I have said many places that growing up Catholic, for me, was

The Treasures of Darkness
We often equate darkness with sorrow, misery, get-me-the-hell-out-of-here reaction. At least I do. That’s why I keep a mammoth Happy Lite on my smallish cubicle at work. But darkness can also be a treasure. Say what? J. R. Miller writes this in “From Streams in the Desert” by L. B. C

On Groundhog Day: 12 Winter Depression Busters
Last year on this day, I got fired. That was a real pleasant Groundhog Day. I was so confused by what had happened that I drove around the D.C. beltway twice. I missed my exit, and realized that halfway around the second time. I just thought on this day, you could probably use some winter depres

6 Ways to Stay Resilient in Stress
Writer Jennifer Yane once said, “I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days will attack me at once.” Admittedly, I spend too many days myself running from “the attacks of the calendars.” I am thinking that if I didn’t have so much stress in my life, I MIGHT be able to grab

Therese, just finished watching you on Fox and Friends. Great job and I’m glad Beliefnet chose you to represent the community. Wish they would have given you much more time so the world could have seen more of the inner Therese that we all have gotten to know and love. The time just flew by while you were on.
P.S. The puppies were cute but a bit of a distraction.

Therese:
You just learned one of the top rules of TV news — puppies always beat bunnies (sigh). But you of course were wonderful.
I never saw a picture of the empty tomb from Jesus’ perspective before. Always thought-provoking about the mystery of Easter …

I also missed your television appearance (sigh, as Larry would say.) However, this photograph isabsolutely the BEST depiction of the empty tomb I’ve ever seen (Even though I’m having a ” spirituallylow” day) I hope your Easter with your family is evrything you give to others on a daily basis–filled with love, hope, encouragement and peace!

” As I looked out my window
I watch the children play
I see an old man,
Looking for something
That can’t be found.
He looks lost.
I think to myself
He hasn’t seen
A good meal
In a long, long time.
Our Easter dinner was ready
But I went to the old man
He looked at me
with the most beautiful eyes,
I have ever seen.
I said, Excuse me, Sir
Would you like to join my family
For Easter dinner
I made so much
And have plenty to share?
With tears in his eyes
He said,
I would be honored
To join you
And your family.
I invited him to come in
He replied, I’m to shy
I’ll just take a seat
On your porch.
I said, I understood.
I’ll hurry back
With your food.
Don’t hurry, dear
Take your time,
He replied.
When I returned
With plates of food,
I couldn’t believe my eyes
He wasn’t sitting on the porch
He was gone.
In his place was
Beautiful lilies with a note
I read it with tears
Streaming down my face,
The note said,
Happy Easter
To you, My Child.
Thank you, dear.
Love,
The Lord,
The moral of the story is sometimes things are not what they appear. We never know who we might be helping. Let us have a kind heart, not only at Easter but every day of the year.
Happy Easter to all of you!
May God bless you and those you love.
” To everything there is season…”
It’s time for me to return to my MRL.
Now, as you go your way and I go mine
I am grateful for the part of the journey
we travelled together.
In the Warm Love of His Wonderful Son.
