So laughter can keep you happy and sane. It can also keep you skinny! That’s according to Our Lady of Weight Loss.
Eric has been reading her newly released book, “All Is Forgiven, Move On: Our Lady of Weight Loss’s 101 Fat-Burning Steps,” and he’s giving me the abbreviated version: laugh a lot and forgive yourself.
Here’s what Janice Taylor, Our Lady of Weight Loss, says about humor:

“Laughter gives us distance. It allows us to step back from an event, deal with it and then move on.” –Bob Newhart
Is there anything more delicious than a side-splitting, hearty belly laugh—complete with tears running down your cheeks? Certainly not! I love to laugh and to smile.
Humor and laughter can help to …
* activate the will to live
* lower stress
* elevate mood
* improve brain functioning
* reduce risk of heart disease, strokes, arthritis, and ulcers
* dissolve anger
* burn calories
* exercise muscles
That’s right—not only is laughter the best medicine it gives your diaphragm, abdominal, respiratory, facial, leg, and back muscles a fabulous workout. In fact, a good, hearty laugh burns more calories than several minutes on a rowing machine or exercise bike; and it causes a domino effect of joyous proportion

Therapy Notes: Forecast Some Backsliding
From my therapy notebook: The path to mental health is an uneven process: for every two steps forward, you move one and a half back. But if you know this before you start walking, you’ll be less tempted to throw up your arms at the first relapse and say “to hell with it!” My psychiatrist

are there any sites out there anyone recommends for a daily laugh? I’ve tried a few and they really don’t “do it” for me. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks. Valerie

I love to laugh. I would laugh 24 hours a day even in my sleep if it meant losing some weight. God Bless Everyone
