Awhile back I did an interview with one my mental health heroes, Fr. Joseph Girzone, who talked about carving sculptures from bars of soap to escape his depression. Now I interview another mental health hero, Priscilla Warner (who runs The Faith Club, here at Beliefnet's Community and who is a candidate for Beliefnet's Member of the Month contest) on a creative way she has transformed some of her anxiety and grief into art: by making jewelry. Pretty cool, huh?
Watch this video and you'll see her beautiful beading.

And, the last clip of her wearing 15 necklaces was "friendship by the pound"? : )
Glad you caught that, Kate.
Yes, that last shot is definitely "friendship by the pound!"
I got a bit carried away by beading, as many people do. It really turned into a healthy addiction! Altho my work space got to be, shall we say, a bit crowded and, um, unorganized....
And Maggie - The Faith Club took off, we traveled a great deal and I haven't been selling jewelry too much, but you can always email me at my profile page here at Beliefnet- I do have lots of inventory! The shops I talked about in New York are mostly on West 37th Street or in the 20's on Broadway. Also a couple on 6th Ave @ 40th Street - happy hunting!
Nice to "meet" you, Priscilla!
I'm with the other commenters -- was that "beading" or "beating" (your poor neck) that you were talking about in the last segment? ;-P
You've made this clumsy-fingered jewelry lover want to give beading a try. I can fully appreciate the peace that creating something of beauty brings.
Dude, this was something very informative I come across recently http://www.transpacificgems.com/ don’t miss to have a look.
