10 Uplifting Quotes for a Depressed Heart

Friday November 28, 2008

Again, this title is too positive to be my own. But we must start the holiday season with a heart of joy, no? Here's a good beginning ...

What is it about a short quotation that carries so much power? Anyone who has ever been moved by "I have a dream" or "I think, therefore I am" knows that a single, simple quote can change a day, a life, a world.

For those who suffer from depression, words of uplift and inspiration are always welcome. Explore these quotations and see if a few simple words might change your day, your life, or your world.

Bailout 2008, a poem by David Jeffrey

Like a bloodied warrior,
laying broken and torn.

Like a dying soldier, hopeless and forlorn.

But the blood, it be green,
the color of money.

And the soldier is an economy,
and it is anything but funny.

Broken are it's people and shattered are their dreams.

Thanks to the ultra rich and their full proof schemes.

It is a tragedy with more pain to come.

Finance will be Hell, and their wills will be done.

After years of depression and then making a decision to change my life I started using positive affirmations. Its taken nearly a year, but one morning I woke up and thought 'I choose to be happy' and have been. whenever I am in situation that would have normally caused me to sink into depression, i simply repeat those words and i am able to avoid the depression. Positive statments and affirmations definately work.
