Following is a list of national nonprofit organizations that can help persons struggling with mood disorders and their families:
 
Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance
(DBSA) . An online alliance for those living with mood disorders. 

Depression and Related Affective Disorders Association (DRADA) . A community organization whose mission is to alleviate the suffering arising from depression and manic depression by assisting self-help groups, providing education, and lending support to research programs. 

Depression-Screening.org .
 A depression screening website sponsored by the Mental Health America as part of the Campaign for America's Mental Health whose mission is to educate people about clinical depression, offer a way to be screened, and guide people toward help. 

Families for Depression Awareness .
 A support organization to help family members understand depression and bipolar depression. 

World Health Organization on Depression .
WHO provides facts on depression as well as their newly launched initiative. 

Mental Health America .
Dedicated to helping ALL people live mentally healthier lives. 

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) . A grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons living with serious mental illness and their families. 

The Mental Health Research Association (NARSAD) .
NARSAD supports scientific research to find better treatments and ultimately prevent severe mental illnesses. 

National Mental Health Awareness Campaign . The National Mental Health Awareness Campaigns is a nationwide nonpartisan public education campaign that was launched as part of the 1999 White House Conference on Mental Health. 

The OC Foundation .
A non-profit organization of people with OCD and related disorders, their families, friends, professionals and other concerned individuals. 

Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA) . ADAA is the only national nonprofit organization solely dedicated to informing the public, health care professionals, and legislators that anxiety disorders are real, serious, and treatable.
Anorexia Nervosa and Related Eating Disorders .
ANRED, which merged with the National Eating Disorders Association, still maintains its website. This site provides a wealth of information on eating disorders. 

National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) . NEDA is dedicated to providing education, resources and support to those affected by eating disorders. 

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention . AFSP funds research, education and treatment programs aimed at the prevention of suicide. 

Suicide Awareness Voices of Education .
 SAVE's mission is to prevent suicide through public awareness and education, eliminate stigma and serve as a resource to those touched by suicide. 

The Jed Foundation.
Nonprofit * A public charity committed to reducing the young adult suicide rate and improving mental health support provided to college. 

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-TALK (8255)
A 24-hour, toll-free suicide prevention service available to anyone in suicidal crisis.
