I was compassionate towards the mentally ill but felt superior because I was not one of “them.” Now that I have been labelled “mad” after having an episode of sudden reactive psychosis I am on the receiving end of the stigma and rejection. I forgive the church members who have reacted like taht through fear as I used to behave the same way. The sugestions for churches are worth exploring but I know that when people are uncomfortable they may not embrace the suggestions readily.

I believe that for every illness known and unknown to man, God has an answer. Where ever we as a people find ourselves, God is there. The church is the place where the mind, soul, and body is made whole by its designer.
