After trying out James Bishop’s Optimism Software, I became intrigued by this new wave of technology tools to help us with sanity. So it was with great interest that I looked at the new Live Happy iPhone application based on happiness expert Sonja Lyubomirsky’s book “The How of Happiness.”
Her research suggests that different kinds of activities are scientifically shown to make people happier … like keeping a gratitude journal or investing in one’s relationships more. According to Lyubormirsky, “By performing these activities on a regular basis, it can add up to a new mindset and a more positive way of engaging and viewing one’s daily life.”
Enter the Live Happy iPhone application to help you do that. As part of the application are functions such as:
- Goal Setting/Evaluating/Tracking
- Expressing Gratitude Directly
- Keeping a Gratitude Journal
- Replaying Happy Days
- Keeping a Savoring Photo Album
- Envisioning Your Best Possible Self
- Nurturing Relationships
- Remembering Acts of Kindness
Research has shown that as a whole these small, daily exercises can lead to a more positive outlook on life and a general sense of overall happiness as a result.
