ROMAN NUMERALS IS COMING!

The second Art West adventure, continuing in a series of archaeological thrillers is about to show up on Amazon and even cheaper at www.wipfandstock.com. The first novel, The Lazarus Effect has been receiving rave reviews, including from Anne Rice, and the pre-pub reviews of the second are just now rolling in.  Here is the first one from a former chaired philosopher at Notre Dame....

Stolen treasures, murderous adversaries, intellectual detectives uncovering truths of the deepest value amid middle eastern loves, hatreds, and rivalries -- these are just a few of the things that make this Witherington thriller gripping, fast paced, and philosophically stimulating. Roman Numerals is high stakes intrigue based in the best real world scholarship. It will grab you at the outset, and hold you hostage until the very end!-- Thomas V. Morris.

The subject of this exploration of skullduggery and archaeology is things apocalyptic and the Roman Imperial cult.  Art is caught up in a nexus of intrigue, and finds himself led to explore why their are inscriptions on ankhs about the Emperor being divine. In the process he learns a lot about ancient talismans and the Gnostic Gospels as well. But just when things seem to have been going well and Art is in Turkey exploring more inscriptions about the Imperial Cult, he discovers his friend Grave Levine has been kidnapped in Tel Aviv, and he is wanted for a prisoner exchange. The game is afoot and there are chases, murder most foul, and even a dramatic change of heart by a member of Hamas.

To sweeten the pot,  I am offering to the first fifteen purchasers of these two novels (if you already have the first one, then just a second one) a third short book entitled Sacred and Mundane free of charge, Just send me a self-addressed stamped envelope to Asbury Theological Seminary, SPO. N. Lexington Ave, Wilmore Ky. 40390 and I will send it out.

Enjoy the read and join the ride that Art West is on. There will be a series of seven such adventures!

I'm new to your blog and haven't read the previous book, but it sounds like I'm sorry I missed it. It sounds like it's right up my alley. I got my A.A. in Anthropology because I wanted to be Indiana Jones. :) I later switched my major and got a B.A. in History. Sadly, I don't put either degrees to much use. :)

When I have the extra cash, I'm going to buy both of these.

Ben: So, do I buy them direct from you to get the freebee or just let you know that I'm buying them.

On another subject, thanks for the new Kingdomtide book--it is wonderful and I'm having all our leadership at the college, the church, and the study center read it.

Standfast. George
