The John Wesley Fellows Meeting at Candler---- The Senior Fellows
The John Wesley Fellowship began in 1977, with Steve Harper and yours truly being two of the first John Wesley Fellows chosen. I have told the story of Ed Robb and AFTE this past Fall on the blog so I will not repeat it. Here are some of the senior fellows attending the meeting.

Guns and Religion--- Enough is Quite Enough
I was sitting at the traffic light when a pickup pulled up next to me. On the back of the cab window was a bumper sticker saying 'Guns and religion. Now more than ever.' Then I found the picture you see above, and then this one below...... My response to this nonsense above

New Book, or rehash of an old theme? If it is a new book where can it be ordered? When is it out?
I am preaching this through the summer and would love to have the resource at hand.
Peace,

This will be out in the Fall with a four session DVD to go with the chapters. If you want something now my Jesus, Paul, and the End of the World has been a best seller for a long time, and you might like the chapters on Dispensationalism in my The Problem with Evangelical Theology.

Ben,
Who’s the publisher/distributor? We can sure use some sanity around this issue. I can foresee this being an excellent small group discussion/sunday school class, et al.

Hi Ben,
Your’re a great writer, but your grammar could improve.

This looks great! Will be happy to read it.
I’ve felt the end was near watching our beloved Tar Heels this year.
Loved the 2nd novel.

Ben,
I can’t access your sermon “Attempting to Overcome a Tempting”.
Is anybody else having this problem?
Is it only available for those in the U.S.? (I’m from Canada)
Thanks,
.Joel.

Hi Mel:
I’m clueless… I have no idea why anyone can’t read this. And as for the sermon, its also on the Asburywebsite.

Dr. Witherington,
I love reading your blog and read it often. I have learned much and it has helped me substantially in growing in my faith. I say all this because I am concerned about the sinful, sexual, degrading, ads you have on your blog of women posing in provocatively in bikinis.
Is there anyway you can modify this or see that the ads match the content of this blog? I only say this as I know that many either find this stuff offensive, or even tempting/troubling for our souls and spiritual lives.

@Ryan,
You may want to run a thorough virus/malware/adware scan on your computer. Beliefnet and Dr. W’s blog do not offer those kind of advertisements. Sounds like your hard drive may have some issues.

Ryan.. this is actually a Google problem. Beliefnet runs ads for Google… and somehow these do creep in… sadly. Beliefnet has promised me they are working on it… but I quite agree these ads are degrading to women and others. If you want to boycott someone… Google is your bad guy.
Blessings

Ben, probably would be a post I’d like, but my screen shows a blank. So I will use my vast storehouse of knowledge that I have obtained over the years [months] of reading this blog. I will be renting The Imposter today [just came out on DVD] and give it a shot. I mean I run the risk of defiling myself with a vulgar hollywood scene or 2, but hey, I run the same risk when reading this blog with all the bikini ads!

Ben the last post was me, but when the letters in the mystery box expire and I refresh the box, it drops the name! I have had more problems with belief nets functionality than any other blog.

I can’t read this post either, just a blank.

Doc Ben, do you consider Romans 8:18 to be eschatological? This verse to me is, for a number or reason, quite intriguing.
posted February 24, 2010 at 7:44 am
First of all there is not post here, only a picture. Secondly, yes indeed I think Rom. 8.18 is a reference to the resurrection and the new earth as well.

If others are like me, I am unable to see even a picture…just a blank rectangle with a small red “x” at the top left corner. I am assuming this is supposed to be a picture of your upcoming book Ben. For some reason, some (most/all??) of us cannot read the picture. FYI Thanks and blessings in Christ.

I’m curious. Does the book take a point-by-point analysis of Revelation?
Like the elements diagrammed here:
http://biblediagrams.com/diagrams/images%201280×1024/new-testament-revelation.htm
(Which appears to be the case from BW3′s comment about “the chapters”)
Of is it more of an overview of different scriptural elements that fall under the general category of End Times? (Jesus’ remarks in the Gospels, Paul’s Epistles, etc.)
