The John Wesley Fellows Meeting at Candler---- The Senior Fellows
The John Wesley Fellowship began in 1977, with Steve Harper and yours truly being two of the first John Wesley Fellows chosen.  I have told the story of Ed Robb and AFTE  this past Fall on the blog so I will not repeat it.   Here are some of the senior fellows attending the meeting.

Guns and Religion--- Enough is Quite Enough
I was sitting at the traffic light when a pickup pulled up next to me.  On the back of the cab window was a bumper sticker saying 'Guns and religion. Now more than ever.'   Then I found the picture you see above, and then this one below......   My response to this nonsense above

Straight is the gate and narrow is the way
that leads to the kingdom of heaven; and
only few find it.

Ben,
What your views on the proposed mosque for Ground Zero? As a Christian myself I can see it from both sides and (even when we discount the more extreme, bias and prejudiced comments) and i think that both sides do have valid points: On one had its can appear as a statement of triumphalism by Islam. On the other hand the mosque is not beign built directly on Ground Zero and there is already a mosque in the existing building (Berlington Coat Factory).
In the end there are no constitutional grounds to legally prevent the construction of the mosque and ultimately we have to leave it to the conscience, judgement and personal discretion of the muslim builders whether ther (a) scrap the project (b) construct a multi- faith complex – a mosque, church and synagogue (C) leave the project as is (d)amend the project slightly to include a memorial with the names of those who died and some statement expressing sorrow at the tragedy.
Perosnally I have some misgivings about the project as it is. maybe there is no need to scrap it, but it could be amended as in B or D above.

The Glenn Canyon Dam tunnel is quite fascinating. That is a beautiful drive. Thanks for sharing!

By the way, every reasonably good photographer has his literal ‘middle of the road’ photograph. I’ve got a few myself. I suppose that’s the nature of what it is to be one that records light. When it finally hit me that one of the requirements to be a reasonably good photographer was to make a middle of the road photograph, that’s exactly what I did. And now I’ve a few middle shots. :)

I may be middle aged (that’s when your ‘middle’ starts to age) but I am not a middle of the road kind of guy :)

Wow.
See link for a favorite road pic of mine. Excellent photo op captured by a teenaged relative a couple years ago.
