Learn About Love

Love is not a commodity to be traded in exchange for security, comfort or companionship. The source of love is not another person. It is within you and from the One Source. Love heals. Love with abandon without fear of being abandoned. Love without limits begins with Self love. Love never dies, even if the person does. It is okay to love the person and dislike the behavior. The Beatles were only partly right when they said “All you need is love.”… love is indeed all we are…

Deepak Chopra has said:  “Love is not just a sentiment. Love is the ultimate truth at the heart of creation.”

What have you learned about love?

HI- lovely “Love’ly” new-to-me website/blog/writings. I agree that on some levels the Beatles All you need is Love is not always how we feel. When we’re expanded, blissed out, newly in love, etc, yes. We know that. I was curious about what your further thoughts were on that point. Thank you!

Love is the essence of who we are. When we radiate love from within we share that vibration and effect others with it’s energy. Love knows no color, no shape, size or weight; love knows only love.
We are here to feel, heal, and reveal our true nature – love incarnate.
We may be influenced by the ad/media and our society to find the ‘perfect’ mate, but when love pierces our protected heart all the outer crust of our rules, ideas and ‘model’ falls away to the one – the one who has touched us to open up and embrace LOVE.

I totally agree Deepak Chopre, Ms Edie Weinstein and the Beatles on this wonderful, yet mysterious four letter word called “LOVE”. The beauty and simplcity of what it means to each individual. I’m sure that if you ask ten people what the word LOVE means to them, you would probably have ten very similar but somewhat different answers. In 1 Corinthians 13 it teaches us that Love should be number one on our spiritual priority list. We should study Love, and develop the fruit of Love by practicing loving others. Love is one of the nine fruits of the Spirit. We seek many things during our lifetimes, hoping to find fulfillment in them. But without Love, these things fall short of the desired goal. It took me forty-seven years to realize that my priorities were mixed up and that Love is the best thing we can commit our lives to. Thanks!!!!

Love is such an expansive state of being, far too vast to define. When I have looked at love as something that comes from someone else, I have felt at a loss. When I view love as who I am and who you are and what are here for and ask the question, “What would love do?” in any given situation, then life is a joy moment to moment.
All brilliant comments above

Love is a tremendous positive energy, the most powerful there is. There are so many people who are deceived into believing in negative voices. These people transmit such destructive negative energy that we must “guard our hearts w/all diligence for from our hearts comes our essence of life” (paraphrase of a Bible verse). It has taken me over five yrs to understand that being in a relationship w/such a person is sapping my energy & negating my ability to love myself & others fully. Sometimes, being true to our essence of love energy (which flows from God, our ultimate life energy), we have to say no to embracing people or situations that would drain us of our love force. Sometimes love is saying no, as hard as that is.

Beautiful reflections here!
When I remember I am love I remember what it feels like to be “home” with every cell of my being. My body relaxes, my breath deepens, I am more present, aware, awake. Yes, life is a joy moment to moment from here!

There are people we encounter who are ‘emotional vampires’, sapping energy and that’s when good boundaries are important as a way of staying stable ourselves. Knowing that we are love incarnate, makes it that much easier.
No is a complete sentence and saying sometimes saying no to someone else is saying yes to ourselves. No can be a loving word when used constructively.
