The controversy with Bode Miller struck a raw chord with me. I'm almost twenty-two years old, and have never tasted a drop of the stuff... I watched my uncle die from liver failure because of it. Literally. I was in the hospital with him- alone- in his last final hours. Those images can and will never leave me. My reaction to it is severe, and I would never speak out of turn to condemn it... But then, our inner reactions are sometimes the strongest.

Bode's behavior in the olympics- months after my uncle passed away- was just... I don't know. Ridiculous. Heartless. He has no idea what he's doing to himself, until he's far too late.

I wish that someone would take him to some lonely hospital room and show him what it can do in the final days. Not only physically- but mentally... and spiritually.

On an unrelated note, Christian, just because Amy does not condone Bode's... mistakes, does not mean she is against drinking. Again, there is a time and place for everything.>
