Yesterday’s “New York Times” alerted me to the existence of a website and online support network for people addicted to psychics and their alluring, expensive forecasts. Founded by Sarah Lassez, an actress who was, at her worst, spending $1000 a month on psychic consulations, PsychicJunkie.net is filled with advice for the many who just can’t “wait and see.” They gotta know, if you know what I mean.
Lassez has also written a book that sounds fun–it’s called “Psychic Junkie: A Memoir.” Aiding others has bolstered her own recovery.
I never had a psychic habit, but I did enjoy a productive visit with a professional oracle after a hiatus from my dating relationship with Mr. Chattering many years ago, when he was far too youthful for serious commitment. If you must know, he was 23 when I met him. And I was a worldly 31. Oh! Oh! Readers, this was painful! I was rolling the I Ching like crazy! Finally I got a roll that said something like “Cautious, watchful, waiting will render a family.” And the psychic I ran to agreed: she said Chattering was a stellar, thoughtful person hurrying to get ready for me, but that he needed more time. True enough, it was five more years before we pulled up to the altar, relieved, happy, and completely exhausted.

CM's Final Posts: You Can Fill the Space
Eighteen years ago, I wrote an article for a magazine that got me called in for a taped interview with a Fox TV morning news anchor. Being an effective communicator and a skillful public speaker was a dream of mine at the time. And still is.
After some 30 minutes of prep with the station's hair-and-

Websites to Visit, Blogs to Read
Here are some blogs and websites I like. It's not a complete list. But it's a start.
The first is called New Moon Journal and it is written by Michele Bailey-Lessirard, a life coach, collage artist, and "shamanic astrologer." On the opening page of her site, you'll find a little slide show of her am

let others wear the sackcloth and the ashes.
Let go, let fly, forget.
You've listened long enough. Now strike your note."

And Finally, This:
Place your burden
at the feet of the Lord of the Universe
who accomplishes everything.
Remain all the time steadfast in the heart,
in the Transcendental Absolute.
God knows the past, present and future.
He will determine the future for you
and accomplish the work.
What is to be done will be done

Don't Pierce Your Belly Button
I caught the following conversation between two pretty women in the ladies' room of a Manhattan restaurant. One of the women was pregnant. And she said, "So my acupuncturist made me take the ring out of my belly button."
"Really?" her friend exclaimed.
"Yeah, he said, 'Let's give this baby a chance.

My only visit to a psychic was when, shortly after my husband and I got engaged, his mother gave us our choice between two psychics she had found very trustworthy. One, she told us, would tell us the good and the bad that lay ahead. The other, only the good. We chose the second. If there was good ahead, I wanted to know about it so I could look forward to it. But if there was bad ahead, I’d just as soon be surprised. If it happened, I’d worry about it then, and if it didn’t, I wouldn’t have wasted any time worrying unnecessarily.>

I have always been interested in the mysterious and psychic phenomena. I also read the Tarot cards professionally for about three years. It was absolutely fascinating and exhausting. I quit and stopped completely because I needed a break, and only once in awhile do I pick them up and take a peek. It is for spiritual guidance only, not if I am going to get the job or about my love life, etc. I cautioned my clients not to use the cards or any other type of modality to “know” what will happen. I came to believe myself that it is more important to trust one’s own instincts and whatever Higher Power he or she may believe in, or not for that matter. Just let it be, but use the cards to understand what was happening at the moment in his or her own mind and heart. Boy, am I long-winded, must be the two cups of coffee! Thanks for listening and God bless.>

Sounds a bit like astrology which I feel is far more accurate about a persons characteristics/what they are like than it is about predicting their future>
